Oil Painting Demo / Palette Knife / Techniques / Impressionistic

In this time-lapse video I paint a seascape scene using oils. I start with the underpainting/block-in and then show how I progressed using a variety of palette knives and just a couple brushes. Overall, this painting took about 1.5 hours but it's crunched down to about 12 minutes. As of April 25 2020 this painting is available for sale. Thanks for the tip on the blue sky color. I've had a little trouble getting that robin's egg shell blue color that I see so often in good paintings. I'll give that a try!

There's a variety of combinations I've used but the base is either UMB or Cobalt. I like to add viridian with ocean scenes and also a bit of some red right at the horizon. Thanks for watching

how can that art work dry . u used a lot of solvent in the foreground , might take 6 months/ rich

Richard quick- I used Galkyd slow dry in some areas. The front sand block in was with a brush with a small amount of OMS. That dries in 10 minutes. The completed painting was dry in 2 days. Titanium White is usually the slowest color to dry. I prefer to work wet into wet in alla prima fashion completing a painting in one session.
