Hello Jose, This is the first time I've watched one of your videos. I really enjoyed watching you complete this boat painting with such ease and enjoyment and in under 22 minutes. I really like the simplicity of it, yet it still strikes the same emotions that a detailed realistic version would, maybe more. I also really enjoyed your straight talk about time. You've inspired me to do more painting and also to stop spending so many hours trying to paint like a photograph. thanks!

Your paintings are incredible and inspirational and motivational. I am lucky I found your channel. Love listening to your wisdom while learning to paint. Cheers sir.

How on earth do you paint so beautifully and talk at the same time? It's amazing to watch you work. Fabulous.

I'm in such a different space in some ways. I love to paint and do it daily. I know I'm getting better and better. But at 70 I just have almost no interest in working on selling. At 70, I have some work in a small gallery, and even there, am not pushing. I have the luxury of not needing to earn a living as an artist. I love your thoughts...time I have used well. Now I am actually trying to slow my once frantic work pace. You are one hell of an artist, my friend' and I'm trying to get there too.

Your videos are so amazing I have always wanted to paint on canvas but somehow always felt I wouldn't be good enough. But after seeing you paint I got so inspired that I painted with acrylic on canvas and can't imagine I could make such a lovely painting. Thank you.

It's funny that you talk about time as I am just discovering your videos and realize that you are creating these in real time and that they are only taking you all of 15-20 minutes and they're beautiful. I get caught in that time trap! I am trying to commit to creating a small piece every day. And hope to overcome that block!
@JoseTrujillo8 жыл бұрын
Hi Mary, thank you for watching the videos! The idea of 'not enough time' can be difficult at first to overcome...but I promise you that if you just start painting and not think about painting you will overcome the block. Happy painting!

Mary Mason hi! I just started a 100 day challenge for myself. ive painted 1 piece every day within or around 30 minutes. it helps me release anxiety and anxiousnrss when painting. I'm just shy of a month I believe and have missed a few days. I'm not being hard on myself, I'm just adding them on as another day. life can be hard. but that may help challenge that thought process and almost take your time off of the clock and in to just "finishing" a piece. see what you learn. :)

I love color, so is it just a matter of finding what works in a palette or is there actual ‘rules’ to undertones and colors used together?

I love your art. I have watched many of your videos. Your technique is amazing. But could you please also talk about the technical stuff, like values, temperature shifts, what colors you are using, what color you're picking up for each segment of the painting etc ... Right now it feels like you're giving a TED talk... No offense.. Just what I felt would be helpful :)

Thanks! I'm just doing trying to do things a bit differently than what most artists are doing out there! However, I will do some videos with more technical stuff!
