I really like hearing that you spend Alot of time on your art. I always watch speed paintings so sometimes when I draw I try to speed through it and feel rushed because I feel like I'm not fast enough. good art takes time :) love your work.

+mcmonsterofmythos Yeah, it really does take a long time! Sometimes people tell me I work too slowly, but putting in more time can make for a better picture! Building speed is also good when you have deadlines, but other than that, it's fine to take your time!

Baylee, please listen to our request. I think we've made up a good challenge. I would call it "Can You Remember?" challenge (very humble name I know). First, you watch a video teaching you how to draw a certain thing, and draw within the video. Then, after you had watched the the video and drew the item step by step, you have to redraw it. Without watching the video. You would have to redraw it using your memory. I hope you get what I mean by this. If you don't take our suggestion, that's fine. If you actually decide to do it in a video, please make sure to give your fans credit for it. (we'll also remember to thank you.)

Ava Mendez It's a great idea! Baylee gets so many requests for challenges though. I've also seen people comment this challenge (or similar) on other videos, so it wouldn't be fair just to credit you. No offence, just putting it nicely before someone does it rudely.

Hey Baylee, have you tried using a water-mixable alkyd medium with your oils to speed up the drying time so that you can work faster? I use traditional oils, but I use an alkyd medium instead of Linseed Oil so that my layers dry within 24 hours and I can work on them every day really.

I know exactly what you mean about paint favourites Baylee!! I have used both oils and acrylics and didn't like oils at all, but now I only really use acrylics and I sort of miss oils/want to try them again??

I suggest that when you try acrylic paints to use Golden artist colors Retarder. It is an additive that makes the acrylics dry slower and stay wet longer. It is a lot easier to blend and move color around! Also don't forget to varnish your oil and acrylic paintings! helps them to pop in color and last longer!

I find I like acrylic for some things and oil for others. Oil paint takes longer to dry so I can get smoother blends out of it and come back and work on a part of I have to leave it. Acrylic dries faster but if you work fast, it might not be a problem. Most of my friends who use acrylic don't blend them as much as they would oil for that reason. (But then again I don't know about water soluble oils)

I tried oil painting for the first time and my 8x10 painting took me about a month and looks no where near as beautiful as yours. It's a rose with rain in the background. I think I'm going to continue with it. I'm just not happy with how it looks now. Oil painting is so tedious and smelly. Have you tried painting "alla prima"?

I don't really know any technical info about brushes. I just prefer coarse bristles for oils, at least so far.
