I have 2009 mk6, and sometimes I get oil warning light when i start the car, but it goes away after few seconds. This happens only during very high outside temperatures. Could that be indicator to change this part?

No, once the ignition is switched off it should be fine

No this won't stop the engine. If it fails you will have an oil warning light on your dashboard.
