That was nice of NH to give you a wrench to turn that machine over. We used to have a JD 4400 combine that was notorious for plugging up the cylinder. The only was to rock is was with a big spud bar jammed in the cylinder and a chunk of wood to give you some leverage.

I know... When we got our deere 9600 I was looking for the slug wrench and it says you have to make your own. pffft

New Holland made some good machines back in the day, I had a nh round baler and it seemed to have a lot of the same parts as is on your combine.

+Northern farmer the current baler I have is a new Holland 544 crop cutter ( it's got chains and bars ) hell of a good baler with net wrap, maybe 10 to 15 seconds and it's net wrapped out the back. The older model was pretty basic but worked ok.

did the little rusted nut ever come unseated on the clutch?

Sure did. it wasnt a nut.. it was a spring loaded pin that locks the tightener. I had to heat it and it popped loose

Im doing this on my TR98 and I dono if you did it before the video but theres another one behind the steel plate behind that new disc you put on. Im having a heck of a time finding a part number online for that steel disc thats between the two fiber discs.. Think you could help me?

been there done that to. sometimes a come-a-long of the wrench wont budge it. i miss the bone dry sunny/no humidity weather of the 1980's

Tyson there is a place in Edmonton we get them from for around 90$ each and way cheaper than new holland

wow,. I hate it when slugs go through the combine, the 1440 was plugging up all the time,. had a small feederhouse.

What did you do to make the combine start and run at idle? I remember a few years ago you had problems with it, would only run at full throttle.

I installed a inline fuel pump.

Aaron 5080 lol yea we went 70 and a 1500 and then jumped to a tx 36 and traded that off on a john deere 9600...and then also bought the tr 96

Nice video, have both a CAT engine or have one the 7.6 liter FORD engine.

Both have the cat 3208 turbo. I prefer the ford 7.8 liter engine.
