At first I thought it was a movie but later realised it was real life when seeing the same man in the court room everyday. I thought he must of done something really bad to be in a court room everyday and people shouting at him in the court room. Years later as I got older I found It was the OJ simpson murder case I saw as a 6 year old. I didn't understand what was going on at the time.

I followed this from day 1 here in Australia from the time the murders happened to the chase to the trial of the century. I was 20yo working my first office job and I had a radio beside me all day and a TV in the reception/customer waiting area. No internet to get updates. 😭 I was shocked he was found not guilty but the more I read and heard, I don't condone it obviously but I understood the black community's jubilation at his acquittal. It's what he represented. Once upon a time it would have been unheard of for a black man to have been acquitted of the murder of 2 white people. Nicole's death was gruesome, yes, but we must also never forget Ron Goldman - talk about wrong place wrong time. As usual Sara, when I think I know everything there is to know about a case you come up with new facts I never heard before. Your research and storytelling are amazing 🙌 PS. Hi Murray! 😺 So cute to see a little glimpse of him. Even he wanted to hear the OJ story. Have a good weekend. ❤🙂

My dad was a huge OJ fan and I grew up watching him play, entertain, act (sorta) and basically charm the hell out of everyone. He was a seemingly great guy. (And rather good looking in his younger years.) Needless to say, I became a huge OJ fan by default. When he first was accused of killing Nicole, I didn't believe it. I insisted that he was framed. I was glued to the tv during the trial. I would record it every day and then watch it every night after I got home from work. I even took an extended lunch hour when the verdict was read so I could go home and watch it. I vividly remember it. I was 6 months pregnant with my son and was jumping up and down like a lunatic when they said "Not guilty." Then reality and common sense kicked in. About a week after the trial was over I really started to think about everything and i observed OJ's demeanor during interviews. That's when the proverbial 💡 lit up in my head and I said "That SOB just got away with murder!" I think so many Americans at the time were just like myself. We were so charmed by OJ that it tainted our common sense reasoning. (The majority of people believe OJ did it. Now. Back then the majority thought he was innocent.) The only question I have to this day is whether or not he did it alone. 🤷🏻♀️ He could easily overpower poor Nicole. I just find it hard to believe that he was able to overpower Ron Goldman. Ron was no slouch. The man was pretty built and he was a 3td degree Black Belt in Karate!
