I say this as someone from the Detroit area which is a city with a very different history from NYC, but the era these guys represent really marked the end of a world that is quickly fading away in the United States. Affordable cost of living is destroyed by yuppies that want to be apart of a city and culture that their presence is actively destroying because they’re jacking up the rent to levels unaffordable to regular people that don’t have mommy and daddy bankrolling their dreams of living the sitcom life they grew up watching on tv. When will people wake up and realize that turning these cities into unaffordable Disney world side shows for the rich is destroying the same culture that made them worth moving to begin with? It’s fucking depressing. Just my two cents.
