“After all she’s done for you.” Like what exactly? The sister needs to sue Jodie for the cost of replacing the damaged items. Her fertility issues are no excuse for this behaviour. “I’m starting a new saucing trend” was the perfect response. OP can do much better than a 30 year old who thinks using a slur is excusable because it’s a trend.

I don’t know how the sister’s defense is even supposed to hold up anyhow. Like Kyutie said, the sister blamed the kids for all of the destruction, but the entire reason the sister was there was because she was supposed to be watching over the kids…

exactly. it was harsh but she wasn't a jerk about it at all. the real jerk is the sister, who was trusted to take care of the kids and instead endangered them essentially and the newborn. op is a mother, and a hormonal one atm. the sister deserved it. if you can allow for someone's else's child to be in a dangerous environment, you certainly don't deserve having any kids.

In the last story: I found it so disrespectful that the husband was not allowing OP to go to her sister's wedding. Like, just because she is a stay -at-home mom, doesn't mean she is not allowed to have her own personal freedom all because "She should watch the kids". She even made arrangements with the friend and there's absolutely nothing wrong with asking trusted people to do favours for you if you aren't available. Her husband should have let OP have time for herself with her loved ones, instead of being possessive and behaving like a 5 year old over one day of not having his wife watch the kids. 🙄🙄🙄😡😡😡😡

Last story: Here we go again, another douche bag trying to control his wife cause he thinks it's his right. How about grandma look after the kids from now on. Try stopping your husband to visit his bros after work and let's see how that works out. I was pretty pissed at that part when he cancelled the ticket without OP's knowledge. IDK but I think it's financial abuse on the dependant spouse.

I 100% agree, not only is he telling her he didn't give her permission to go he is trying to make her distance herself from her family and is turning his family against her. A normal person would just allow someone to take care of the children. Even if you feel weary of a babysitter you can do like OP did and ask a friend or family member. This husband disregarded all of OP's ideas because he did not want her to go and was unhappy she wasn't following his orders like his little mind thought she should.

First story: I get being jealous, but the sister took it way too far and frankly, the OP didn't do anything wrong. Honestly, I can get what the OP said: if the sister is gonna act like that, I'm not sure how safe a child would be or if it would be a good environment for a kid. That's just me though and I don't hope that the sister can never have kids, I just hope she gets her act together before she does have them Second story: I don't think the gf was wrong at all. It's not a joke (especially if you're a full adult) if it hurts someone. Jokes are only funny if people around are okay with it. Third story: the husband is horrible! So controlling, what??? It's for her sister's wedding and she found a trusted supervisor for the kids. He's not affected at all, what's his issue?

I agree!! I feel like calling someone degrading names like "bitch" should always be discussed first to see whether both parties are okay with terms like these. I get that they can be used in joking ways among friends and lovers but still... we shouldn't forget that words like these are demeaning. Yeah, I'm the sort to call my friends bitch but also things like babe and darling, they know I mean it in an endearing way and are fine with it because I TALKED TO THEM ABOUT IT, sometimes I even periodically ask if they're ok with the things I say and the jokes I make. If you really care about someone you talk to them and establish boundaries and you stick to them, if they tell you not to do something then don't do it. Also I agree, I wish she just took home the pasta and gave it away or something or to a homeless man so it wouldn't have been wasted.

There was an update from OP for the last story: So she Basically got in contact with the previous babysitter and asked her what happened during the “robbery”(it had been 7/8 months from that) and the babysitter basically told OP that her husband was making her feel uncomfortable and was being inappropriate, although she wasn’t sure if it was intentional or not. OP husband also left messaged to the babysitter that made her uncomfortable. Then apparently on the night of the robbery the husband asked the babysitter to do sth for him( I’m not 100% sure about that one) and she didn’t want to so he just called her and fired her but told his wife that she was stealing hence the firing.

"After all she's done for us" Like getting jealous at the first pregnancy for example. "Jodie" has not done anything except watching the twins while OP was in the hospital. And she used this time to not watch the kids but to wreck the house and *blame* it on the twins she was supposed to watch and control the don't misbehave and are safe. I get that OP is feeling guilty for some things she said when she was still recovering from giving birth *and* finding her home wrecked. But honestly she should sue her sister into oblivion and cut contact with her afterwards. The parents obviously were lulled by "Jodie" and given lies to what she supposedly did for OP in the past. Golden Child Syndrome. If they really believe what they said OP should cut them out as well. At the very least until the baby is 2. To the last story: The husband was not "able to live one day without his wife" he was "not able to do things his slave does ordinarily". That is more or less what he obviously seen OP as. The dumb woman he holds for s*x, cooking, cleaning, raising the kids, ..., and obviously not a partner. I guess the old and demeaning tradition of the woman having to do anything her husband says or wants is not dead yet. Like it deserves to be.

first story: definitely right to get angry and even cut off ties if you ask me. it's not just the property that was damaged, but the children could have gotten hurt. yes, what she said was harsh, but i'm assuming this was after delivering a baby and she was probably extremely exhausted and emotional at this time. what the sister did was absolutely horrible and what was said was hurtful too. but honestly, i wouldn't blame her for saying it or call her a jerk. she had offered to be a surrogate for her sister and understood her jealousy yet trusted to keep her kids safe. after all of this and still the destruction? nah, that sister has no right to be a mother until she matures. i probably can't understand the pain of a miscarriage but to be this violent is disgusting, especially because kids were involved. second story: i don't think the bf was entirely wrong to make a joke like that UNLESS if op made those boundaries clear beforehand. from this, it sounds like she never did. i don't like being called that word by anyone either but i have had friends who call e/o that for fun. i think trends are stupid at any age, but this is clearly a communication error and still after all of this, op won't tell her bf how she felt. he was dumb but her reaction is worse imo. instead of wasting the food and ruining his rug, if she just set it down and told him she doesn't appreciate such jokes and why, maybe he would have apologized and they could have had a nice dinner together. obviously dump him if he repeats but you need to set your boundaries first before setting expectations. third story: clearly an example of a power trip. the husband is controlling and seems borderline abusive. it's not about him having to stay one day without his wife, but it's about controlling where she can and cannot go. he's calling her neglectful and doing whatever he can in order to guilt-trip her into not going and enjoying her life for a day. i feel bad that she couldn't enjoy her sister's wedding but she needs to make sure that she can reach out to anyone and get a job to stand up on her own feet. i have nothing against sahm, in fact my mom is one as well. but sahm have to be really careful about their partners treatment towards them otherwise they might become overly dependent and end up in abusive situations like these. i hope she gets help soon.

I bet the sister didn’t get in trouble for the level of destruction and the fact that the op just had a child and was in trouble for how she spoke about the level of destruction speaks volumes to who the favorite child is.

3rd story is the reason im terrified at the idea of getting married and having kids involved.. All men are like this. My ex, my friends' exes, their current bfs, my male friends, even my dad to some degree. Theres always a level of controlling behavior and emotional manipulation. She shouldn’t have said that however sometimes when people are mad or angry they choose emotions first and don’t think straight. For the first two stories I feel like the people chose emotions first and wasn’t thinking straight and when you are mad at that moment you just blow off and don’t care about the aftermath or the consequences of your actions that much. My toxic friend from high school casually used the B word as his form of slang throughout junior year. Not once did he ever realize that it was really annoying and hurtful because it gave off the impression that he only "liked" certain people who were "worthy" of his friendship. I was not willing to see if he would grow out of it, so I stayed away from him and the majority of the friend's group throughout our senior year. I was so angry that I snapped at him by reversing his own negative behavior back to him. Because it took place shortly after we graduated, I thankfully never dealt with him again. First story: Alright, maybe what she said was rude. But her sister deserved it. Jodie went to her house and destroyed all her stuff. Honestly, Jodie is lucky that her sister didn’t make her pay for all the stuff she broke. But Jodie does confuse me. I understand if you’re sad because you can’t have kids, but shouldn’t you be glad other people can? Especially your sister? You should be supporting you sister not destroying all of her things. If that were me I would’ve been like “Well, you’re paying for all the stuff you broke.” I can’t believe she tried to blame it on three year olds. Like, yeah, three year olds are definitely strong enough to tear a mattress. Second story: Ummmmmm............ Okay, this makes me mad. Someone came over to cook for you after they finished work and you’re going to be like “Hey! Let’s use this TikTok trend and insult her, what a great idea!” Like, what? If that were me I would’ve slapped him in the face and been like “Yeah, well I’m creating a new trend, it’s called leaving, bye b!tch.” (Okay, I might not slap him in the face but you get the point.) Third story: She’s a full time stay at home mom and you’re not even going to let her take one day to enjoy herself. ITS ONE DAY! And the fact that he cancelled her plan ticket just because he wanted her to stay is ridiculous. Like, stop being controlling. And the fact that he was like “let me make my living” like she doesn’t have a life to pisses me off. You’re in this together, it’s not only her job to take care of the kids. And the fact that he was like “No, your friend can’t watch the kids.” Like, shut up. What makes me laugh was he got his mom to scold her. Like, he needs his mom to scold her. He can’t talk to his own wife about it? What also makes me laugh was that the mom was like “You’re abandoning your own kids!” Like, abandoning would be if she left them out on the street. But she gave them to a friend. And then he’s like “You’re such a neglectful mom. You take care of the kids almost 24/7 and take one day to enjoy yourself. Neglectful, selfish, horrible.” Like, shut up. You’re being a neglectful husband by trying to control her into staying and making it seem like the only thing she can do is watch the kids. There are people defending the guy in the second comment saying 'she shouldn't of acted that way.' or 'how was he supposed to know?' To me though It was pretty obvious why she acted the way she did. Even without her past specifically the word 'bitch' has been used by men to insult/belittle women for a long time. The 'what's for dinner tonight' could also have negative association to it as well since men have also been telling and expecting women to 'stay in the kitchen', cook and clean for them for a long time to. To say that to a women that has just made you a dinner after they have had a bad day at work really doesn't sit well with me. Her reaction told him it wasn't a joke to her yet he never apologized, just tried to explain why him calling her a bitch was 'ok' (it gave me the 'it was just a trend so I'm allowed to call you that' sort of response). The fact he called her a bitch again afterwards just shows he doesn't care about how that word makes her feel at all. And the fact he went straight on to demand she clean his rug (again men have expecting women to clean for them for centuries) isn't a good sign either. I hope she breaks up with him because she deserves better.

I'm in a similar fight with a friend who's 50 years old. I didn't throw stuff, instead I told him to cut it out and later sent him a text explaining why I don't find that funny. You know what that got me? He still thinks it's hilarious and says he's going to keep acting that way forever. Our mutual friends basically say that 'boys will be boys'.
@anamazing2297

@@riel4553 "Boys will be boys" only applies to roughhousing, not bullying -- which is exactly what continuing something someone is uncomfortable with _is._ They should either cease their harassment, or learn they may lose a friend. Is it petty playground logic? Maybe. But nobody should force themself to be friends with someone who makes them feel bad. It's their choice to disrespect you, or apologize.

I have a girlfriend, and honestly we do call each other "bitch" as a joke I usually go "you bitch", but literally not two seconds later I'm hugging her arm and telling her I don't mean that, that if that makes her uncomfortable she can tell me, and that I'm just joking. (Her response is to laugh and say it's ok, I love her lmao-) Really, it has to be discussed first. We did discuss words that make us uncomfortable and words that makes us comfortable. Literally I asked her if she'd be comfortable with me calling her "sweetheart". For cute nicknames, you need their consent to be called that. For degrading names, even more. It's a joke between me and her, sure, but between some other couple, it could be extremely hurtful.

Lol i remember the days i used to say to my bf i was ok with being called a Bitch as a joke. We were very good friends so it was applicable to us Thing is, deep down i wasnt 100% ok with it. I just didnt have much of a backbone (still don't) and didnt want him to feel bad about himself for calling me that, since he genuinely didnt have bad intentions about it. I even convienced myself back then that it was ok, it wasnt a big deal like that No lady likes being called derogatory terms even as a joke. Thats all. I'd choose being called your highness as a joke rather than being called a bitch/slut as a joke anyday haha. I'm not saying with confidence that your girlfriend is like me, but im just giving u my perspective to consider as well : )

I had a 'friend' that started greeting me with a 'Hiya b*tch' and a hit in the arm when I was in middle school. (We were friends for seven years at this point) This was in front of a lot of people and she did it in such a way that it was embarrassing for me. The first time I thought it was just a random tasteless/unfunny joke on her part (which she was known for) so I shrugged it off at the time and didn't make a big deal of it. She ended up doing it a couple more times. I told her to stop... she didn't... and I stopped hanging out with her all together because of it. Looking back at my whole friendship with her I'm pretty sure that she wasn't really my friend. She didn't like that I stood up to her and told her no. I think I was just a stand in because others couldn't tolerate her.

that friendship was bound to fail (and i'm glad it did) because you made your boundaries clear which she chose to still ignore. in the story, it doesn't seem like the bf knows. what he did was unnecessary and i would personally hate it too. but op never clarifies how or why she felt the way she did. she had a rough day and maybe the bf thought she would laugh at the "joke." she doesn't but she ruins his rug and leaves only to send him snarky messages without actually addressing the problem. to her, he disrespected her. to him, she's being mean. it's bound to fail until they talk like mature adults.

Hot take about the second story, both of them effed up. The boyfriend knew his girlfriend had a long day, hopefully knew about her past with the word, and should’ve recognized that it wasn’t appropriate for the time. However, from his POV, it was harmless. It really IS some stupid TikTok joke, so he didn’t expect for it to backfire so intensely, also he was EXPLAINING his reasoning, not EXCUSING it. Although not cleaning it up and expecting the girlfriend to do it was some nonsense. The girlfriend has every right to be mad, same reasons as before, the long day, her background with the word, and the inappropriate timing, but the snarky texts and dropping the pot was just really unnecessary. She should’ve just had a conversation with him on why she didn’t like it. She never actually said if she told her boyfriend that she disliked, she only wrote in the post that she didn’t. (Btw yes, she told him “I better not hear you use that word again” but there was no reasoning there.) Also, I HIGHLY respect that she stepped down and went to her friend’s house and muted her phone, as well as the boyfriend hanging up because he was mad. Cutting it short before any fight happens is a good idea, but also, the lack of communication between the 2 is wack. These are 2 fully grown adults and they can’t just talk about it? Like COMMUNICATE, I don’t care if it’s in person, texts, calls, neon signs, skywriting, fireworks, or carrier pigeons, just SOMETHING. And not to sound like an ass, but if a TikTok trend can cause so much damage, maybe they either need a break from each other (OP did say they were studying so the stress from that absolutely cannot be helping) or just aren’t meant for each other. Or in short, two wrongs don’t make a right

what he did was very cruel and uncalled for. Just because some people in an app say it's a joke, it doesn't mean it's ok to do it. From my experience, when someone does something cruel like that to you, they know it's humilliating and mean, it's never innocent. It's also unlikely to be an isolated incident - abusive behaviour has probably happened before and will probably happen again. Honestly, it's pretty obvious that the guy is a selfish person who doesn't deserve her, not only because of the "joke", but because of his childish response and cero accountability for his action

Wow. The TikTok one. That's the only logical response to that issue unless you're both in on the joke. The wedding one. My dad did that same thing to my mom and she did the same thing to him. The sister should never again be allowed to watch the kids (including the 3rd kid/baby). 2nd Story: The guy shouldn't have called OP a bitch. OP shouldn't have dropped the food on the floor. That is a waste of food. She should've taken it with her when she went to the friend's house or given it to a homeless person. The guy should've apologized to OP. 3rd Story: OP isn't in the wrong. The husband is really controlling and got angry when there was nothing to be angry about. OP wasn't being a neglectful parent. She had a friend watching the kids. There was nothing wrong with OP going to her sister's wedding.

I'd explain the situation to my family and have the kids stay with me and have them stay with the other kids while the wedding happening! But after the fact I think a heartfelt talk should have been had with the Boyfriend about how it made her feel and she should have made sure to add in that she had had a rough day and was stressed so having that on top was just, shall we say, The icing on the cake. ... no, I think she was right to say she hopes she never has kids. If she's going to be that kind of a person that destroys an innocent newborn's things out of jealousy of the mother, then how would that woman treat her own child should she have one? Some might argue, "Well she's doing this BECAUSE she doesn't have a child! If she had one...!" Stop. Stop right there. If this woman is going to be this petty and vengeful to one child, then the first time her own child does something out of line or makes a mistake that impacts her 'personally', abuse is going to set in REAL quick.
