When I was 13 at boarding school, I was sucking on a 'lifesaver' candy, with the hole in the center. It got stuck in my throat. If it weren't for the hole in the center, I would have suffocated and died. They told me to drink water, so it finally melted. I will never do candies like that again, no mints, nothing hard that you suck on and not chew. Maybe that's why they call them "Lifesavers"? Morbid.

4:10 It's a misconception that people flail when they're drowning. That's why the life guard DID save that person, because he'd been trained on what to look for.

@@MilanC08 Usually it's a shock response/natural instinct. Your body goes into shock and does the opposite of what you'd expect because it's trying to survive. It's actually extremely rare for someone to flail and scream while drowning, but we think that's typical because of movies. Some things you should look for are: does the person look like they're gasping for breath (above the surface)? Does it look like they're trying to climb a ladder in the water? People are very unlikely to yell for help because their mind is telling them they're too busy trying to catch their breath to scream. Some other signs of drowning: Head low in the water with their mouth at water level Head tilted back with mouth open Eyes glassy and empty, unable to focus Eyes entirely closed Hair that's flopped over the person's forehead or eyes Not using their legs but vertical in the water Hyperventilating or gasping Trying to swim in a particular direction but not making headway Trying to roll over on their back without success Appear to be climbing an invisible ladder Unfortunately, drowning itself is a very quiet, non "dramatic" looking process. To people who aren't trained, people who are actually drowning wouldn't even get a second glance.

Story: I remember I was at Summer camp in a pool with my the people that where in my class. I could only stay in three feet because was was to short to go above that. And all my friends where in four feet. So… of course I wanted to go to four feet. So I was trying to swim over to four feet where my friends where. And halfway there MY TEACHER BLEW HIS WHISTLE AND I STARTED FREAKING OUT. My feet couldn’t touch the ground and I didn’t know what to do and I was right in the middle of four feet. Everyone was getting out and literally didn’t acknowledge me drowning right in front of them. Until I somehow managed to call my best friends name because she was like the second to last one getting out the pool. And she pulled me out. My teacher thought I was pranking him when I told him I was drowning lol. Ok bye!

One time I nearly drowned at a waterpark. Me and my step mum were on a rapid slide thing where a lot of people are allowed on at once and would sit on rubber donut rings. There was this big slide part coming up, and I somehow managed to get in front of my step mum. I landed, and was pushed underwater by the current, and in a few seconds came my step mum crashing down on top of me. The current of the water from a bunch of different people going different ways pushed me in every direction, and held me underwater. My step mum was on top of me and didn't realise, so I started banging on the bottom of her rubber ring. She didn't realise that either or feel it, so I was stuck trying to reach for her leg whilst rapidly running out of breath. Just as I was about to give up, I managed to pull myself out from underneath her and escape. This wasn't my step mum's fault btw!!!

“Hey, you wanna race from one end of the pool to the other?” “Sure, with my kick board?” “No.” I was 6 years old and this 8 year old girl asked me this. I didn’t really know how to swim. I was okay, in swimming lessons, but still pretty weak. I bring my kick board to the other side of the pool, and set it on the side, then she leads me to the middle. “One, two, three, GO!” She says, just before diving under. I push off and start swimming. Doing good, passing people, awesome, we’re a fourth of the way there, halfway, man, I’m tired, I’ll swim in one place for a second. I’m tired. In the middle of the pool, tired. I begin to panic. I find my 4 year old brother with his floaties somewhere near and yell at him. I’m half crying with panic. He swims over. “What?” “I’m drowning, help me, help me, please.” “Okay come here.” “I CANT!!” I’m crying at this point. “I can’t help.” “Please help!!” “I’m sorry” and he swam away. I feel myself go under and refuse. I come up and yell “HELP!!!” And nothing. I whisper help and start to sink a little before a life guard finally spots me, swims, and grabs me. This all happened in the time span of 5 minutes. 5 minutes of a weak 6 year old girl stuck in the middle of the pool, treading water and drowning.

1:36 THIS this almost happened to me YESTERDAY. Some guy at my apartments had been trying to get a toddler flout from my friend. I had gotten to it first and sat it it i had sat in it for a bit just kicking around the pool sooner or later it started to hurt so i tried kicking out of the deep end and to the stairs so i cpuld get out. But half way there he pushed me over makeing me flip. Background info im really bad with not haveing my nose plugged under the water so- anyway i didn't have time to plug my nose and started trying to breathe under the water kinda the reason why im bad with it. Water started flowing into my lungs and i felt like passing out the only reason why they pulled me up was one obviously i was kicking like crazy and i hadn't got myself up yet. They had to do half cpr just the chest compressions so i didn't dry drowned. 🙃

Here’s mine: I was riding a school mare and we were doing courses (2”+, I was still a beginner then) and we approached the one vertical. The mare spooked as we took off, slammed into the standard and tripped, i somersaulted off of her neck and she just missed landing on top of me. The mare landed about 3 inches away from my head. I ended up having 2 poles crash down on my helmet as well as have another kid behind me almost run me over. My helmet was scuffed up and my neck felt odd, but I got back on. The next day the pain in my neck was so bad I couldn’t move my neck. Had to go to the ER and I had bad whiplash. Trainers and doctors said I was lucky in that situation. Still scary to think about..

Ok so when I was in 6th grade we had our school talent show coming up I have left my math book inside of our school building we had went to a big building that had a lot of space for our school talent show to be held so I left the building with me and my “friend” to go get my math book.(btw the school building was right by the building that talent show was gonna be held)A car was outside Circling our school building trying to find people me and my best friend at the time were outside trying to get in the back door of the school the car had stopped right by us there was a big man inside .The next thing I know this man tries to grab me by the arm well I am banging on the back door of my school it has a rule of no banging on the back door you would be suspended ,I didn’t care about being suspended I cared about being alive but there was nobody there to answer the door. So my best friend at the time it started bolting so did I when we get to the building that is holding the school show my best friend ,my real best friend was inside and so was a authority figure inside too but when we got to the door “my best friend”at the time open the door and shut it on my face so if the man in the car would of gotten out he would of gotten me it would have been “my best friends fault”.After I had opened the door to the building the authority figure ran toward to saying “oh my god are you girls ok?!” My friend at the time said”yea we’re ok” like nothing had happened I looked at this girl dead in the eyes and said “are you kidding me?! ,We were almost kidnapped?!” The authority figure had went outside trying to talk to the man but when she had went outside he saw her coming ,he drove off rlly fast and didn’t come back. So I’m still in 8th grade now and don’t anywhere with friends Bc I don’t know who to trust and what they’ll in the heat of the moment

Not my story but one my mom told me. When she was a little girl, maybe about 6 or 7, her family had a dog that was kept chained up in the back yard. One day she was outside playing with him. He got excited and started running in circles around her, inadvertently wrapping his chain around her neck and basically strangling her. Thankfully their next door neighbor was outside and saw what was happening. She said that the guy jumped the fence, grabbed the dog and started leading him the opposite direction to unwind the chain from around my mom's neck and ultimately saved her life.

Everytime my grandpa drives, we all prepare a paperbag incase someone throws up. He goes above speed limits and one time, when he was going way to fast, my cousin threw up. She ate before going so that would make sense but she always throw up on rides which also make sense. But god, she threw up everywhere. One time when we were going back home from a province that is from another island, we were going so f*ing fast the whole van was going side ways. I thought I was about to die. And why didn't I throw up? (I'm so used to it coz when I was 6, theu started travelling with me). Another time when going back home, we were at the ferri (ship) and the whole ferri was rocking side to side. That made me scared of ferris for life. I thought I was about to drown and die. I was already thinking how I should get the life jackets and how I would swim :')

actually cool story my dad knows someone who got in a bad skydiving accident, basically parachute and emergency didnt work, and he was falling rlly fast, and hit the ground. everyone thought he died and took their sweet time to get ppl out there to take away the body, but when they did finally get out there, they found out he somehow landed so perfectly as to only break some bones, which hurt, but he lived

I was like five when I almost drowned. My family and I were visiting my cousin and we went to a public pool. My brother was swimming in those intense bubble things (I don't know what they're called-) and because I was that type of little sister that loved to copy her brother, I swam into the bubbles too (I was swimming with that board that helps you swim) and suddenly, the board flipped over and I went underwater. I remember only waking up with my family and the lifeguard around me out of the pool.

Supposedly when drowning you do have time to think of things as it is not a sudden death, of course these stories only come from people that didn't drown just nearly did.

Something like the second story happened to me when I was little, but I wasn’t an experienced swimmer, I can’t even hold my breath underwater. It’s a long story. The life guard was 3-4 feet from me that day and they did absolutely nothing as their phone needed more attention than a drowning 10 year old. 🙄🤚🏼 I usually ever stay at the edge of the pool now and I’m an adult, due to the fact that I’m still a bit traumatized from the experience. And I’m sorry but I don’t and can’t trust life guards anymore.

There were fish bones stuck in my throat more than one time, I felt like I was choking and the roughness of those bones were scraping my throat due to which it kind of felt as if someone was stabbing my throat I calmed myself down despite not being able to breathe and slowly chugged in glass of water. Another time I was around 13ish or something and we went for swimming and at that time I didn't know how to swim. I took a water slide and the point at which the slide ended it was deep as compared to the other points. I was there for quite a while hoping someone would notice me but no one did. I could see people from down there and hear noises but still felt as if everything was so calm and quite, I felt as if time stopped for me but than thankfully somehow I emerged from water.

I remember on the minibus on the way home from camp once, one of the tyres blown and the van suddenly started shaking, and I could smell burning moments later. I read that and immediately knew it was a burst tyre, and you should coast the car to a stop. When he/she said he/she used the brakes, I knew it won't end well.

Even though this will be erased or reported. People are talking about stuff at times. A heads up if any. So what this country doesn't get is that they will say it and then the country begins. They talk about everything. Even the things that they want to hide and cover up. What they want to do to this family has been said and is known. That is something this country doesn't get tbh. Plus, they talk about people against us too. One spoke about a dude who fell. Do I know if it is true? Not really.. I know a few. But I didn't know him and if it is true.

I've never had an accdent where i almost died that was caused by someone else (or such as the ones in this video). When I was really young, from when i was born to a few months old, the doctors didn't think I would make it because I was very sick. Yet here I am 13 years ago. Because g0d hates me.

It was school holiday (I was like in 5th grade) and my cousin family(?) wants to go picnic at a river. They invited my family and I to go with them but unfortunately, my family couldn't go and insist on me the only one to go. It was pretty fun at the beginning but suddenly I slipped on a big rock I was standing on and the water levels go above my height. I started to panic thinking, I was going to die. I don't know how but I managed to grab on the rock and make my way out of the water. At that moment I realized, no one was watching/notice me almost drowning. The most traumatizing experience I should say.

When i was little i was playing with my brother ( it was winter and there was some snow) behind my house, it was like a little hill i guess like it was as high as a 4 y/o. So we were jumping down it into the snow and having fun with our dog until idk if i accidentally slipped on a rock or i lost balance and while i was falling hit my back on a rock but the next thing i know i was on the floor trying to breathe. It didn't hurt much it was like i couldn't breath nor realize what was happening. So after a few seconds of panicking my brother decided it'll be good for me to turn on my stomach so slowly he turned me around cuz i felt like i was paralyzed, and then after a few minutes i felt my breath coming back a bit by bit. To this day my back still hurts and it's a bit hard for me to breath at some points but for some reason we decided that there is not reason to go to the doc cuz i felt fine after few hours after the accident.

There is this beach my family and our friends used to go to a lot, there was a wharf a little out in the sea and we usually went around and jumped off it for fun. It was also where the ferry stopped and we could only jump when it was on the other side. The wharf had different levels and people would get back on it on the lowest level which usually was level with the water. But in this situation it was low tide and the lowest part of the wharf was just under a foot high and I couldn't push myself up. We started jumping way before the ferry was back so that shows show long I was in the water, and the only person who tried to help me was like 6 and tiny and didn't have the strength to pull me up. I kept asking my brother for help but he and his friends just kept getting back up and jumping. The ferry started to come back and I started to panic. No one helped me until the ferry was like 10 metres away from me and in my head I had all the stories my parents had told me about if I got sucked under a boat I would drown. Only then did people pull me up and I had a few cuts from oysters but otherwise physically healthy. The ferry driver then decided to call one of the boys in our group an f'ing idiot or something and we were only kids. That was emotionally traumatic for me.

Once when I was 10 or 11 I was having swimming lessons and my coach made me and all his other students go into the deep end to practice. But instead of giving us all life jackets he just gave us all noodles to sit on. As we were in the deep end I fell off my noodle and couldn’t reach the wall so I was sinking. I started panicking and looking at the lifeguard in front of me who did NOTHING but smile while staring at me panicking. My coach just thought I was having fun until I couldn’t get back to the surface. Luckily he then saved me but for a moment I thought I was gonna die.

Fun Fact: I also had a close call when I was around my lil sister age so 10-12 years old (I'm 18 now), we were on a caravan holiday and one day we decided to go to the pool and as we were in the pool my dad decided to do 3 rolly polly under water in a row and then my older sister decided she would do the same and copy him and because I was watching I wanted to try it myself and as I was on my 3red rolly polly i hit the ground and I was upside in the water then I blanked out for a minute and when I woke up I was gasping for air I was in tears and traumatised and never did a handstand or rolly polly in the water ever again btw that experience scared me so that maybe 2x after I went swimming again I never did swimming ever again but that's not the only reason I don't swim i also don't swim because of my severe alopecia (hair loss) and when I say severe I mean I'm the only one in the uk to have severe alopecia because I lose it from the back and the doctors said my hair will never fully grow back only in patches so like any one else I was devastated and now I wear wigs (I started wearing then, maybe when i was 12-15) but I have no eyebrows, no eyelashes and no hair but the worst part is I'm now a brunette when i was originally born with very bright blonde hair which was so bright u couldn't see very well in the light i was bald when i was little around 4-5 years old (when I did child modelling) I lost my hair at 1yr but they found out when I was 5 that I had alopecia after my entire nails fell off ik gross and as a kid it scared me and still does

I was 14 on vacation with some family and we were hiking on a mountain and when we got to a small hiking trail that was rocky on one side and the other side was a drop-off to a lake and the trail was sandy. So we were walking and I started to feel sweaty and then I looked at the sky and the sky was spinning like crazy and going as fast as a car on the highway. I had no idea what was going on all I know was that I needed to sit down, but the next thing I remember was just sitting on a rock. And that was the first time I have ever fainted. If my body went to the other side, away from the rocks, I would've fallen into the lake and possibly drowned & died. When this happened, I was walking alone with my aunt a few feet in front of my and my mom and grandma a few feet behind me

when i was abt 7 or 8 i was at a net ball match. i was not playing at that time so i went to my friends who were also not playing. we were playing with a rope and it got to my neck my friends did not notice that the rop was strangling me i was in the middle and at two sides two teams were tugging the rope but thankfully a teacher saw me and another incident was when i was 6 or 7. me and my cousins + family went to an inhabited island for a picnic that day my cousins and sisters went to a deeper part of the sea its called a well if i am translating it. it was deep my first cousin and best friend of mine went their originally i was older than him by 3 and a half months so i followed him all high and mighty. then my cousins and sisters were playing i but i was frightened by how deep it was. then my 4th cousin came to me and was trying to teach me how to float and when she was trying to leav by swimming i grabbed onto her shirt and nearly drowned but thankfully she noticed and got me out but i was in the water for a good while out of everything that has happend to me the part of drownining makes me scared most. i love the sea but cant go far. my cousins make fun of me becaus i dont go far back when i was 8 or 9 i used to stay in the shor i am going to be thirteen but i still cant go that far that is the only trauma i have so far

I remembered some mentos got stuck in my throat (while I was outside) I was trying to tell my friends but they didn’t know. So with both of my hands, I did CPR on my throat. It came flying out of my mouth, and dropped on the floor. I ate another mentos and it also got stuck in my throat as well. I did the same thing but with my mouth closed. Hi guys off topic but i need some advice. I want to get the covid vaccine but my mom doesn't want me to cause she's afraid . Only cause those around her had bad reactions. I tried convincing her that side effects are normal and that everyone's body is different. I just want her get over her fear you know? But i don't know how . I could either wait until next year till I'm 18 or i could go behind her back with my father's consent but i don't want to do that . I really don't know what to do . If you all could give me some advice or what you would do in this scenario it'll help greatly 🙏
