Wow I love how informative this was, I never thought deep about keyboards before but they’re a lot more fun that I imagined and you taught me a lot !

The best advice I have is to familiarize yourself with all of your options. When I was picking my switches for the yunzii I got, I listened to all 5 options, including the Akko blue switch, which I was fairly certain I didn't want. It's good to listen a couple times over and if possible, listen to recordings from different sources, because SO MANY factors can change the way a keyboard sounds in a video. First and foremost, the switches can sound different in different boards, but the angle of the board (flat or lifted on the little legs), the surface on which it sits, the room it's in, the microphone placement, etc, can all change how the switches or keyboard sounds in the video. Honestly, the akko orange switches I got still don't sound EXACTLY like any of the videos I watched on them, but I was able to discern that it would be a deeper and softer click than the rest and that's what I was looking for, and I am in no way disappointed because I did the research beforehand.

I was not expecting to get an education on the actual functioning of mechanical keyboards but I am into it! I have an aJazz keyboard I found because it was pink and was small enough to fit on my desk for school/work. The escape key doesn't work for some reason, so I may try out one of the keyboards you have jaja

Loved this video!! I work from home as a developer and I honestly don't even know how I wrote good code before getting a mechanical keyboard lol. I love the feel and sound and I find it easier to type quickly. Plus they are super cute

I find my preferences change all the time. I used to love reds, got a keyboard with blue switches earlier this year and I loved it, but now THANKS TO YOU (!!), I got the yunzii matcha red bean with akko orange switches and I LOVE the way it sounds and feels more than any keyboard I've ever owned. Even with gaming, I don't love how sensitive the blues can be at times. I play League of Legends, and the blues occasionally have made me misfire. Also, I love the deeper, soft clicking sound of the akko orange switches. But I swear, between you and the tiktok account I follow dedicated to testing out different boards and switches, I'm gonna go broke and have nowhere to keep all the boards that bankrupt me. After hearing your gateron pinks, I might be getting another keyboard. I've been eyeballing that yunzii board with the blue gradient. I know this one goes really well with my desk setup, but I have blue accents all over my room... Plus this yunzii board is the nicest keyboard I've ever owned. Also, I had one of those circle keyboards, and while they are adorable, I hated typing with it and never really felt like I got used to it. Some of the key placement was just too unintuitive to where I've been comfortable typing for my entire life, basically.

Omg i know exactly which blue one you’re talking about and I fulllyyy support (me being a bad influence again srry ed lol)! And agreed, I definitely find myself using the akko wayyy more!

Been a fan awhile, but I finally had to comment! You (+ Kat) are reading my mind! Y’all with cozy, casual gaming, your Notion tips, and now MKs! It’s been a few months now - I’m two keyboards deep (one starter SK64s + one legit gb extra Milkshake :3). Got the husband soldering macropads for me. :))) If there’s any major advice I’d share, research, research, research. Triple check keycap measurements (1U, 1.25U, 2.25U, and so on) against the keyboard. I’ve read enough horror stories about having the wrong shift key. Anyway, I love your work & your energy. 🌼🌼 Can’t wait for what you come up with next! 💌

@@CozyK This is actually the hardest part about this hobby to find: macropads (cute + prebuilt) and not typical numpads. It comes with a higher code learning curve for customization. They're virtually only available in kits or in limited QTYs. Exercising a lot of patience (I barely have) in this hobby. 🥲😄

The algorithm introduced me to this style of keyboard and i went on the hunt. Found this exact one on Walmart but didn't buy it cause I did think it was real cause it didn't look like the others in other videos. Autoplay led me to your channel and once I saw you use it I ran back to my cart and hit checkout. There was only 2 left when I bought it so I'm Praying it comes. In the mail.

This was SO HELPFUL THANK YOU!!! I’ve been researching for hours and no where can I find a universal “this is what all these terms mean” and I’m like. Can I buy any color caps and put them on any board and it seems like the answer here is yes? If it doesn’t matter the switch type. God bless you. I knew if I found a vid on your channel you’d lay it out. Ugh. I love you 😭😭😭
@CozyK3 жыл бұрын
Ahhhh i’m so glad! And yes any caps go with any keyboard buttttt there are some keycap sets that may not work with smaller or larger board layouts, so just double check with the keycap listing (usually the right set of ctrl, fn, alt keys and right shift keys will be affected size wise)

I've been using mechanical keyboards for years but never customised one. I am using speed silver switches currently and didn't even know it was a linear switch, I just like using it :D I had browns in my previous keyboard and I don't know if I noticed the tactile feeling (even though I knew it was a tactile switch), maybe I need to compare them now after this video! I also didn't know about the Cherry profile and it's one of the things I didn't like about the keyboard, I didn't realise it was a cherry thing! Now I just need to find a board I like that is full size! It's been a struggle so far.
