Hi all!
Well wouldn't you know it, that's the sixth week on the bounce I've uploaded an animation! I listened to the audio when I was out on a walk and the laughter that came from it earned me a few looks to say the least!

@@ExhaustedWombat Sean's waxing poetic shows that he genuinely cares about his job in some capacity. It's very frustrating when you express passion about something and it's dismissed out of hand. Not to mention the fact that he is being laughed at by all his coworkers. Clearly Shawn is uptight, but he also seems genuinely hurt. I'm sure there is a way for Shaughn to tone down the philosophizing and for his coworkers to be respectful of his passion

Cassun If the guy is that passionate about his job then I would suggest that he finds a way to make a useful and practical contribution to meetings that is a benefit to the company. Of course that won’t happen as he doesn’t have a passion for the sacred art of selling tyres so much as a passion for presenting himself as an intellectual and trying to laud his smarts over the co-workers he holds contempt for. This is why the guy who cracks wise at him bothers him so much, he feels he isn’t being treated with due deference and it is why his inability to cook up a snappy retort bothers him enough that he would pay strangers to give him one. You barely need to read between the lines to see this.

Doing it repeatedly, and caricaturing your coworkers for siding with the one-liner, a bit more antagonistic, but still a fundamentally human action. What's funny is that I love philosophy, but if some dude was trying to make profound philosophical statements about our business when we're trying to get through the fifth meeting we've had that day, you can bet I'd wanna punch him. It's like... Dude! Your business meeting is not the time to show everyone what a brilliant visionary you are. Write a blog. Let us get through the numbers so we can get back to work.

Especially considering this is the during times. So like... any already existing frustration with meetings and business are just exacerbated by having to do everything from home, via computer. And that meetings like this are happening more often, because its how you have to touxh base ajd coordinate. I dont think i could be as nice as his coworkers and just make a joke out of it...

Right? I worked a lot on myself to prevent this exact thing. Time and a place, don’t be pretentious. Even if the philosophy was relevant to the business (like shop layout vs how people like to move), most people in that meeting have zero input on that and just wanna get to work. Take it up with your superior or a tire shop worker union or something.

I don't think so. this feels like someone who just doesn't have social cues. Like they are a bit strict and high strung, but it's definitely not intentional. and I know they don't realize they might be in the wrong or don't realize how their actions might be annoying. I feel bad for them because not everyone is self-aware or able to pick up on these things.

Like, being socially awkward and wanting people to take you more seriously would be fine even if an outsider could figure out that you were probably in the wrong, but it’s the way he seems to despise the others that sends the red flags up for people

Shaun sounds like that person who got bullied at school, that made him want to strive to want to become a perfectionist and want to be in one of those dream scenarios where like "The Nerd Is The Boss Of The Dumb Bully". But it hasn't happen yet in his life, now he gets bullied not by student's at school anymore but rather by his co workers and boss but in a teasing kind of way that way he can't file for harassment. Basically this guy sounds like he is going to turn into batman villain, he shows signs of eye twitching/under breath cussing maybe and deep rooted anger on the inside but one the outside is a business professional look when he is getting made fun of. This guy sounds like he needs help, not by making fun of his co workers back but by becoming a better man and let go his suppressed anger issues he most likely has.

It's the worst if you have a boss who rambles. At my work we had meetings that were scheduled to run from 9-9.30 at the longest, because people on the early front desk shift had stuff they were meant to do before 10. In practice not only would we always run over, but it would constantly look like we'd get away early, because we'd get through the agenda by 9.25. But then she'd always remember something else, and she would get sidetracked into asking staff members questions that really didn't need to be in a meeting, and would start just telling us about things that were only important to about two people in the office. And she'd never, ever look at the clock and decide to wind up unless (heaven forbid) we went all the way to 10. The worst thing was I got the job of doing the minutes. So I was never able to leave the minute early, no matter what happened.

I know people don't think Travis is as funny as Justin or Griffin, but the show wouldn't work without him. He sets up so many jokes for the other brothers for the sake of pure comedy, not because he'll get to be the one to deliver the punchline. His "philosophizing" monologue at 1:39 is literally him just making up a whole speech to set up his brothers to dunk on him with the "OK Plato". He lines em' up so they can knock em' down.
