OK's Cereal Commercial 1960's Yogi Bear

Yogi obviously stole the cereal from a "Pic-A-Nic Basket", so they made him spokes-bear. The Trix Rabbit could definitely learn a thing or two from him.

OKs were nothing more than Kellogg's version of Cheerios. I am old enough to remember these Kellogg's/Hanna-barbera ads when they originally aired. Good advertising gimmick, because it made the kids want the cereals. Snagglepuss did Cocoa Krispies (with a caveman sidekick named "Coco", whose voice was done by Ted Cassidy, aka "Lurch"), Quick Draw McGraw & Baba Looey had Sugar Smacks, Pixie, Dixie and Jinks had Raisin Bran; you get the idea.

Kellogg's orignally sponsored "HUCKLEBERRY HOUND", "QUICK DRAW McGRAW" and "YOGI BEAR" in syndication. Naturally, they also appeared on various Kellogg's cereal boxes, and "integrated" commercials on those shows.

I believe the original mascot for the cereal was a Scotsman named Big Otis.

Yes, "Big Otis" was the original mascot featured on the box. By the fall of 1960 [when this commercial appeared], Yogi had replaced him.
