My mic order from best to worst Shure SM7B, Beacn Mic, Deity VO-7U, Razer Seiren V2 Pro The SM7B is a staple in the XLR Dynamic mic category but a USB mic that you possibly could've compared the others to, to replace the SM7B is the Audio Technica ATR 2500. I personally still go with XLR for that added control of audio sounds if I'm too loud or too quiet. The choice I picked is the Audio Technica AT2020 with a Behringer Xenyx Q502USB as the USB power is how it would retrieve its phantom power and also send connection to the PC. I would eventually like a DSLR/Shotgun mic setup but just something cheap so maybe you can do a shotgun mic comparison which is going to be expensive. LOL anyway keep up the good work Harris. P.S. A note and something I've realized for a bit but never really felt the need to comment about it since I heard about it from other people's POV. Other creators have done kind of a tier list about the most used mics that popular and growing streamers use. Anyway, I would honestly like your thought about more XLR mics. Lastly, maybe a video idea is clashing the 2 variants together about all the different types of standalone microphones being USB, XLR and shotgun mics. That's all from me, a rare commenter but I do hope this gets seen. :D Been subscribed since before Covid sometime before that and I really enjoy your videos. Great stuff.

Hey man! So I’ve been watching your videos on how to start streaming, tips and tricks, best equipment, how to use obs, etc. I’m currently stuck in a position on what laptop to use for streaming. To keep a long story short… I am streaming from my ps5 to KZbin/Twitch. Streaming from the ps5 is good but when I go back and rewatch my videos I notice a drop in frames and it’s gets stupid pixelated. So what I was going to do was buy a laptop remote play it from the laptop and stream my laptop to twitch. I have both the microphone and the camera ready to rock and roll but stuck on what laptop would be best. Some videos that I have watch get a laptop but when they stream it you see little hiccups in the way, I am trying my best to stay away from a capture card at the moment but if I have to get one for the best performance I will. (To my knowledge I know they do not currently make a capture card that outputs 120hz yet) and my monitor for my ps5 is a 120hz monitor and I don’t want to lose that performance that’s why I am staying away from a capture card and am trying find a really good affordable laptop that will stream perfectly with no hiccups. Reason I commented on your video is because you know your stuff compared to a lot of other people. I’m new to all this streaming stuff but I sorta get how it works thanks to you. Latency free mic monitoring is a must have. Most usb mics lack this. Better usb starter mics are Samson Q2U, ATR2100x-USB, or AT2005USB. All of these are smaller handheld USB dynamic mics with XLR. $100 or less. As low as $50 sometimes. You can start out with USB, then upgrade to a mixer/audio interface later. If going all in on XLR from the start, SM58 is a better option at $99. (or SM57 with foam cap). There are videos how to EQ an SM57 to sound like SM7B. I have personally used SM58, E835, RE20, and SM7B. These USB mics look cool. That’s about it. They look like an SM7B because that mic is popular.

So glad to see decent USB dynamic mics hitting the market. It’s so rough watching people use Condenser mics on YT and Switch when they don’t have the acoustic treatment to make them sound good but that’s what is mostly in the market so that’s what people buy. I’m convinced the preference for Condensers by manufacturers is that they CAN sound good when demo’d. It’s just they don’t sound good when you put them in your home. Dynamic mics are so much more forgiving.

Most important feature for me is that the microphone does not require a boom arm. Which means, I am looking for lavalier mics. I know its about the streamer experience, but on our channel we stream often with two people, and having two honking mic stands set up on my relatively small desk in my very small space is just a non-starter. Lav mics are the only way for us to go. So, I WOULD LOVE to see you review some less convention options like low, mid, and high tier lav mics. We are using some mid-ish range (i think) Rode lav mics right now, but I would love to see what the options are

That Diety one sounded great and what's even more amazing is the time savings because its a one stop shop for everything and you have no stupid sub par software to fiddle with. I think this is a great choice for a beginner and intermediate.

What microphone did you use before you started switching/comparing microphones? I don’t want a mic right up by my face in order to hear me, the one you have on throughout the video (unseen and used when you weren’t comparing microphones) sounded incredible.

Yes please do the top 10-15 UBS microphones and do a side by side test. This test was super helpful and would love the see the range of the top USB microphones all compared to each other side by side instead of having to just watch the other videos of you doing only some comparisons to USB microphones when there is such a variety now

Still so impressed about the Beacn mic. Most likely will be my next purchase! Thanks for the great info as always Harris ! And everyone use streambeats. It’s what I use and it’s awesome !

The Deity would be my go-to. It's okay that it's almost featureless compared to the BEACN mic. To me, it sounds really good and it is plug-and-play. And that enormous mic comparison concept would make a killer video! Good work.
