Scams: an infamous enduring human catastrophe with massive repercussions upon the victims and very little consequences upon the perpetrators. Scambaiting, all mighty and vacciney as it may be, still has to be refreshed constantly to maintain our protection up to date and vigilence constant. This illusion of choice is also a very good way to make a child work with you. If they are throwing a fit over going to sleep you can just ask them "would you like to go to sleep in 2 minutes or 5 minutes?" And they likely will just choose and get to sleep. You might be surprised how easily and often this works.

@@ArtSMRdianne - If my 2yo throws a fit and says that they won't relieve themselves I leave them with a choice of "toilet or potty, no other choices" and they will inevitably pause their fit and make a choice (95% toilet) and actually get on with it, leaving me less worried about the state of their clothing for the foreseeable future. So I see it as a way of engaging them in the task they are initially reluctant to do... I legitimately didn't know it was a Manipulation Tactic. But then again, not going to stop because someone on the internet sees me as a horrible parent because of it. I'm gonna be the horrible parent with the unsoiled-trousered child.

one thing i've always wanted to do if i were to start scambaiting (if i were smart enough about email, i would've started already) is to take a detail they list about what they're looking for in their "partner" and say i can't fit their needs. "are you a business man or woman?" "i apologize, i'm neither, i think you'll need to look elsewhere". my only worry is it'd cut the conversation short too fast, but there's potential for a rich vein of confusion that might get jumped on.

it might work if you say you can only tangentally fit their needs and keep derailing the scam to mention that and other stuff that is ultimately irrelevant. something like "are you a reliable business parter i can trust?" I think the chances of a scammer dropping a "bite" from a target without at least *trying* to reel it in are quite small. The vast majority of targets just delete their messages without any response, of course, and the more people that watch AS scambaiting, the bigger the majority that will be.

The most incredible part of this is the idea that there would be a way for American soldiers to send stuff back with no customs inspection, yes I'm sure the US government would be fine with people bringing in explosives, machine guns, and opium etc.

It's ALWAYS a victory when a scam emailer is replying "Stop messaging me!! Or I will report you!". When I found your channel, it was only the scam baiting I watched...but over time, I absolutely fell in love with your content. I just want you to know, it's made a genuine impact on my life, and the way I think of happiness and risk.. as well as what I would consider the concept of "fulfilment" in ones life. It may sound like a lot, but... I just wanted to thank you for sharing some of the more fascinating aspects of your life, hobbies, and interests. 😊

I love how the scripted emails are flawless and kind of put you in the mood, while the actual replies typed by the scammer don't even have the correct punctuation.

I would have kept trying to renegotiate the split. "No, no, no. I want 50/50." "Actually, this is sounding risky. I should get 60% and you get 40%." and so on.

I found it particularly amusing that the ATM Card scammer was charging $2600 for $35,000, although only charging $2500 for $40,000. With that pricing logic, the victim could technically just buy the 40 grand option twice and only pay $5000 for 80k rather than paying 7. Not a great mathematician that one.

I first found your channel because of your scam baiting. .You are unique in that you do email scams of this sort, no other channel seems to work them, and I find myself smiling the whole way through. And the info you provided in the 'show more' is good too. . I first came for the scam baiting, but also very much enjoy the other diverse topics you cover, especially your cooking ones. . The 'illusion of choice trick'...you left out one other category of crooks.....politicians..... . Wonder if these tools would be willing to accept a Sympathy Card instead when they are finally exhausted.... . Cheers
