Moving it was easier than I thought. You can make your own pedal car: 1- fiberglass body is enough 2- four pedal sets, for a four-passenger car, one set per passenger 3- hand brake used in addition to back-pedaling for deceleration 4- solar panels to charge batteries for horn, lights and turn signals.

car tires can't support too much pressure though. it would help, but there would still be a lot of rolling resistance (although less than you'd imagine due to the low weight of the system car tires are much more rigid than bike tires after all). anway, it would be better to use actual bike wheels for that effect.

Nice to see it actually works. You've given me a few set-up ideas for my own design too.I'm trying to design a roughly 3/4 scale UK built MG B roadster, two seater pedal car. Pedals on only one side.Not because of rising gas prises, even though it's a nice bonus. But I'm visually impaired, so getting a licence is difficult for me, and even with my 50 cc scooter I can't come out in the dark. So I would love to somehow get a pedal car built to gain more freedom.
@jozefsk74566 жыл бұрын
Having a back support, like in a real can seat would have made a huge difference.
@GraveUypo5 жыл бұрын
yes it would. in fact, i use a chair made from a car seat to exercise on my exercise bicycle and it's REALLY comfortable. it's what allowed me to be able to do this every day, for up to 3 hours at a time, without getting sore from a bike seat. i exercise while watching series or playing video game, or both. the more distracted you are, the less you notice you're exercising. that's how i started at 9pm and only stopped because it was already past midnight last friday. i could go on for a couple more hours easily. it's great. btw i made that chair to be my pc chair. figured car seats are designed to be used for hours at a time in comfort, so they would make good and cheap chairs. and they do (depending on the model of the car you get the seat from)

In the 70s we had a Pedal car that held four adults it was as big as a volks beetle and two peddled up front and two rode in back seats and it was fiberglass. It was so efficient with a three speed shift transmission that toeight-year-olds could get it up to 15 miles an hour adults could go faster. I’ve never seen anything as sleek as what we had It had a sophisticated drive train no cheap bike parts it had axels and drive gears made just for it. I don’t know why no one builds that anymore one person could use it. Had a steering wheel. Today they make similar ones but they are crap with handle bars and $3500. We paid $75 for it used.
