Yikes! I think Robin and I may have anchored in that cove. So glad Winter recovered, and will always recall your frozen sail story. Truth be told, I'm learning form you now.

You *are* special. 😊 I think Winter was more startled than injured. A bit sore, and then she was over it. The footage of the snowy cove when you first arrived was epic.

What a great episode. I’m glad Winter rebounded quickly. It’s good to see the generator working. On my Ericson 27 I keep a Honda 2000i as backup for my traction batteries. I’ve only needed it twice in 15 years of electric auxiliary but my sailing is way more limited to yours.

yeah this new generator definitely opened up more options for cruising especially in less than ideal conditions like these!

Thanks for sharing another video of your unique life. I don' know if you think about it much...but you really are rare person... living a rather uncommon life. I could here in your voice how afraid you were for Winter. I'm so glad she bounced back to her usual self. I love your footage and look forward to more.

@@sailingokasolo6801 It works well with stable winds. I've watched a few of your vids (just found your channel) and it looks like it should work well in your conditions. We spend a lot of time in sheltered anchorages but on days when it's cloudy/rainy it's typically windy so it's been a real help to our overall electrical system. It's the only piece of equipment that I don't have a shunt on (it's on the list) to determine it's exact contribution but I can see the overall amp draw changing as the wind speed changes so it's definitely generating power.

@@sailingokasolo6801 An update on the Primus, we've been stuck in Fernandina Beach, FL for a week due to bad weather. The wind has been very stable for days at a time blowing at 20-25mph with gusts up to 40mph. When Jenny is running, she shuts down at 32mph, she's been consistently producing 20-25amps @13.5V.

I swear I saw a boat that looks a lot like Oka in Pender Harbour earlier today. It was even electric powered and had a dog on board that looks a lot like Winter from 100 meters away. If it happened to be you sneaking South for a couple of days I am sorry that I missed the chance to meet you 🥺 There is a good chance I am spending most of the winter here, until Mid January. Then putting my boat on the hard on Texada while I head to work. If you or anyone else is passing by and would like to grab a coffee please drop me a note 😊

@@sailingokasolo6801 I am sorry that I missed you 😕 If you saw a White sailboat with a yellow stripe and transom it was mine. I have got to say, your boat looks beautiful, and it was wonderful seeing Winter running around the deck. I hope you have a great trip, and if I escape from here for a few days I will hopefully see you out there 😊

Bonjour Patricia. Bonne continuation. Prends soin de toi. Une caresse a Winter. Amitiés. Olivier.

Hello, You Meanie (lol) happy to see you & your little aussie mate survived all that. I've seen healers get stood on by cattle, sook for a bit, shake it off, get back to work. That area reminds me of Hawkesbury River in New South Wales, beautiful, but no "snowy beaches" (never heard that said before). How's the Tug job going?

LOL I used to "fly" around in this region in my flight simulator, sitting at my warm desk at the other side of the planet. It's so cool to see how this beautiful nature looks in real life! Great content! , I'm so happy that your dog got better so fast. Actually, even more scary than the accident was in my opinion the low visibility in this narrow inlet. I don't know much about sailing but that looked dangerous. You need to get a marine radar! 😀

Aaaaawe Winter, that was a bit emotional. You must've been loosing your s*! Hope you're planning to put a diesel back in Oka someday, I felt bad juju watching you install that electric, sorry 😐. Why not start a Patreon account, set you and Winter up for safety and success... so you can buy a good chart plotter with built in compass, a lifejacket for her when the deck gets slippery and she ages, and maybe a diesel heater in case you hurt yourself/get sick and don't feel like stoking a fire (I've been there)...

It’s moments like having a best friend injured in the wilderness that brings home how isolated you are. Good to see Winter wasn’t seriously injured and recovered quickly. Please tell me this was last falls footage as it’s way too early for freezing temperatures and all that snow.

...... yikes can not even start to imagine what you went though .... good idea threatening her with a plane ride ... smiling..... story from the James Harriot who was a Vet in Yorkshire UK, he wrote a series of books "All Creatures Great and Small" that encompassed his his and a good portion making house calls to farms. He was at a farm and the farmer commented that his dog was not getting better and James had noted that the dog was always at the farmers side and mentioned that the dog should be resting to recover, well that was something the dog knew nothing of. So after explaining to the farmer James gave the dog an injection that would put mans best friend out for 48 hours as the body, also human, does it's best healing while sleeping because all energies can be directed towards healing. When the dog woke after 48 hours it was as if it had never bin ill .. by staying put and resting Winter did the best thing she could .... happy that all turned out for the better ..... loved the how to go down the channel in the fog, find one side then find the other .... that lodge where your friends are working, did you notice the size of the stumps sticking out from under the eves of the roof beams. That took more than muscle to get those in place ..... thx for the share .. as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans ....
