Great music choices. Ghostly fog, very ethereal. Winter so cute wrapped in a blanket!

one of my favorite sounds, the water gently lapping the hull and the soft hum of the electric motor. it sure looks cold there, must be winter. safe sailing.
@sailingokasolo6801 Жыл бұрын
Yeah you can still hear a motor but its when other boats pass by that you really realise how noisy engines are! The electric motor's liquid cooling system is the noisiest part !

So different from open ocean sailing. 7 knots of current through narrows in the fog Wow!! I’m impressed👏

Definitely I have yet to make a true offshore passage and am slowly getting Oka ready for it! I figure if the electric propulsion works thru this kind of conditions Ill be fine abroad and offshore!

Hi Pat.... It's nice to see another video from you. I sail (and motor, lol) those waters, too... almost always single-handed. Coming into the dock, hot, as you needed, jumping off Oka and tying up quick... it shows how confident and truly skilled you are on the water. Congrats... those tides are merciless.

Hey George slow and steady i will keep posting I try for once a month and yeah the Johnstone strait is not for the faint of heart! 8 years ago i had never been on a boat never would of guessed it would be me life now!

@@sailingokasolo6801 Wow, just 8 yrs. It's not easy....and not for most people. ( It has been for me, most of my life ). I totally understand that making a video takes time and effort....it's nice that you share a bit of what is, in fact, your rather rare life. Thanks

takes a lot of work to sail through all these little narrows. I spent 2016 to 2018 sailing around these waters on a minesweeper for the navy, and that was such a great time seeing all the wildlife. good job skippering by the way, i know how situations can quickly take a turn for the worst when transiting the narrows.

I have never tried False Narrows having always used Dodds but you show it is possible. I might have to try that as we often stay at Pirates Cove and then come around to go to Dodds but False is a much more direct route. We have a little catamaran that only takes a few feet so depth is not an issue.

yeah I was coming from degnen bay so it made sense to try it rather than go all the way around! Oka draws about 6ft and there was plenty of water
