Honestly spoken, many class individual players, a good spirit and balance in the team, BUT no backbone, slow defending, defensive deficiencies, too inconsistent. They really have a bright future, if they can get rid ot these weaknesses. What I desperetly wish, is that turkish football have a long term persistent, sustainable development and not shor-lasting success! Turkey has definitely a "Golden Generation", but we all know how many times a bright era turned out failing.

I apologise in advance but I genuinely think a lot of people here are giving Monetella too much credit, on one hand, he created this family environment, which he’s done spectacularly, the players are very close and they gel very well, which is what I personally think helped Turkey excel. On the other hand, throughout the tournament, we saw Montella make terrible decisions that makes no sense, especially regarding his choices for the starting 11, substitutions and where he players certain players, which is what I think ultimately cost Turkey the match against the Netherlands. This was very obvious in the first few matches where some of his decisions had me questioning whether he was betting against Turkey, the only reason he ended up winning in those first few matches was because of the incredible talent creating positions and goals out of nothing. His decisions got better after entering the round of 16, bu honestly I’m not sure whether it was him suddenly realising he was making terrible decisions or the people/press pressuring him into making certain decisions that finally led him into making some correct/logical decisions that ended up pushing the team to the next level

Just as an update, Turkey has now lost 3-1 to Montenegro, and lost its 1st place spot in it’s nations league group, yes Montella didn’t exactly have a ton of options considering a decent chunk of the squad is unavailable, but even with the available players, I don’t think he played the best starting 11 but even more glaringly, he yet again failed to make the right substitutions, I mean being 2-1 down, in a match where Kerem is playing terribly as a striker, Montella not only refused to take him off but only brought in an actual striker in the 82 minute after we’ve already conceded the 3rd

Bu yorumu türkçe yapmak istiyorum. Montella hakkında haklısın ama hollanda maçında yaptığı hataları çok küçük göstermişsin. Neredeyse hiçbir şey yapmayan kenanı oyundan almakta çok gecikti. Türkiye gol yemesine rağmen değişiklik yapmadı ve bu yüzden 2. Golü yedik. Dakika 80 de değişiklik yapıldıktan sonra hollandaya oyunu dar ettik. Yedek kulübesinde sezonu çok formda geçirmiş semih ile yılların tecrübesi cenk varken hollandayı oyun olarak eziyorken bu hatalar çok basit kaçtı. Tabii iş işten geçtikten sonra konuşmak kolay ama semih 10 dakikada kenanın 4 maçta girdiğinden daha çok pozisyona girdi. Montellanın atılmasını ben de istemem ama yarıfinale çıksak final de görebilirdik. Yazık oldu.

Gol yiyene kadar 15 dakika falan takımın dayak yemesine izin verdi en azından toparlanmak için bir değişiklik yapıp oyunu değiştirmesi gerekiyordu. Ama çeyrek finali de o yaptı.
