Okay... Okayu's trolling is top tier. I'm imagining her laughing in her mind the entire time while smiling like a dunderhead as if she sees nothing and knows nothing while Korone struggled for a while and comment land getting frustrated having to keep saying "get metal" fruitlessly, yet they have to keep spamming because of the illusion of possibility that Korone might see it. The only reason Okayu is into masochism is because she's tired of it being SO EASY being a sadist. In fact, she's the sadist queen. Okay enough comment essay. Thank you so much JShay! I'd like to point out the Korone is usually pretty zen when playing, even games like Battletoads, Ghosts and Goblins, and even that Kururin Paradise game for 20 hours straight, and yet _Mario_ was the one to make her angry. In fact, Okayu, another zen mode gamer, has also raged at Mario before too. The moral of this story being that Mario games can be pure evil and I'm pretty sure the devs are majorly S.

People who say Mario's easy have never even fucked with him, compared to the other games which actually have a rep to inform your expectations. Mario games get DECEPTIVELY BRUTAL as you go, especially near the end, in part because "WTF kids' game shouldn't be this hard". But with a good learning curve and decent fairness, too, encouraging you to push past those difficulty spikes. Classic Miyamoto making sure you get your money's worth and then some. I have played this game and its controls are *quite* jank; it's a product of its time, for as classic as it is. Dire Dire Docks is such a cheap 100 coin star as you have to get all of the blue coins to get the star and even worse is the draw distance in this level as the vast majority are underwater, yet you can't see them until you are right on top of them because of programing issues.

Who made that first loud scream??? Given the context, it only makes sense to me if it was Okayu (cause Korone didn't seem to notice anything was wrong), but I can't recall Okayu ever, ever making a loud scream like that or getting that excited. It's like...strange.

@@JShayTranslations I think she screamed when she started to feel the pull of the vortex, suddenly losing control of mario like that out of nowhere and being startled, and then realizing you're getting pulled into a hole, lol. Or maybe she already knew about it before and completely forgot about it because her focus was on the coins, then suddenly realized. Still, her reaction was at extreme SOAP levels of terror, lmao.

The thing is, you can fight that current if you are good with swimming and you don't need the Metal Cap at all, you don't even get all of the coins so that is a sign that Metal is not the only way, Korone is just not a good swimmer in Mario 64. Or she could use the shell but that requires more skill than good swimming.

I'm surprised Nintendo let even this doggie badmouth their devs, even in jest. I know "kusottare" doesn't carry the same weight as its literal English translation, meaning more like "jerk" than "asshole", but it's still SOMETHING. I guess it proves Nintendo of America's the real problem and Nintendo in Japan's just trying to not rock the boat too much with what they're saddled with? … Too political? Regardless, Mario's surprising difficulty+pressure of a friend watching+that friend being Okayu+Korone screams=more golden than goose eggs.
