I’m never rude about Hila, have defended her from nut jobs on multiple occasions, flew out to LA to see the live show in the winter, have been watching for years, and will continue to, but it is a bit annoying to focus on the nut jobs on social media when it seemed like a lot of people felt similarly. I wasn’t rude in my criticism, and am a pretty positive guy in general. kind of bummed on this response. but, so be it. hopefully there will be a long streak with no controversy and this can be forgotten about, even if I think Jacob still deserves an apology.

I think the part that's getting missed is that the cat looked "malnourished " not sick. He took it home to feed it and nurse it back to a healthy state. Day 1 or 2 he realizes the cat is not eating, something is wrong it's not just a food and water thing, he made an appointment with the vet. I think I would have did the same thing, and he also said it was a group decision. I think this whole thing will discourage anyone from helping. If she didn't feel the need to take him to the vet someone had to step in.

The only video of Seven looking malnourished is taken by Jacob 6 days after he had the cat. & didn’t take the cat back to the vet to ask about the seizures. just took it home and it starved to death from not wanting to eat. When my dog goes to families if we go on vacation she ALWAYS has a hard time eating, and she knows my parents home and then so so well.

I’m all for standing up for Hila, but there is a weird complex that Hila can do no wrong. She’s only human, and humans make mistakes. Ethan has mastered an apology and made changes. Is Hila willing to do that as well when it may be warranted? Maybe that’s what commenters mean when they say that she needs to be “humbled.” As another “long time viewer” I’m happy that she’s found her voice,but, I hope that she’s able to do some self reflection on how she presents her opinion. Sometimes, it just comes off as out right mean.

It’s not just creators is what humans do. We react to the most powerful things people say. You genuinely believe that is someone was being told to kys over and over again they wouldn’t put some focus on it. If any of us got the amount of hate these creators get, I find it unlikely that we wouldn’t fall into a depression or atleast a self pitty hole. The criticism in their eyes doesn't make sense, folk are jumping down their throat like they were claiming the woman was innocent in the neglect, they didn't. They actually spent hours reviewing the evidence and claiming multiple times the girl was dumb and fucked up for not getting her sick cat to the vet. But they also think Jacob's action were weird and honestly a little inappropriate. You see a sick thin cat you think is gonna die if you don't get it to the vet and away from its neglectful owner and steal it, but wait days to actually get it to the vet. If it was serious enough to steal, then it's serious enough to have to wait in an emergency room vet hospital the same day you stole it. Again Jacob isn't a monster, he just acted wrong here, and so did the girl for not getting her cat to the vet sooner. Basically the criticism in their eyes is "yall should have only focused on one person's wrong doing and ignored the others." Which is stupid on the face of it and doesn't really need to be addressed, the folk who went absolutely psycho do need to be addressed and told to phuck off though.

I'm confused about how certain things are being missed here. The kid thought the cat was simply emaciated, which means slowly integrating food. However, as the days progressed it became evident that its not just starving and thus Vet appointment was made. Not only that, but if we're criticizing this kid about 'waiting' 3-4 days, then it should be more egregious the amount of time that girl waited. Plain and simple, people shouldn't generally be stealing pets, but read the room; she didn't care anyway. If my dog went missing, there would be posters, social media posts, I would not shut up until I found my dog. Calling him an incel for saying she didn't deserve to know, was a stab at the fact that she didn't care about the cat at all in his eyes. Whether he talked to her, told her, warned her, that cat was doomed. If he called animals services, that cat was doomed. With everything we know that death is NOT on him, it was already dying. I did not sleep for weeks and would look everywhere for him day and night in every street of my city. Printed signs everywhere, called every vet, shelter, did every single thing I could to find my little boy. It sent me into my worst depressive spiral yet. The fact she went out partying the night of makes my blood boil. I completely share Jacob’s frustrations with regards to the cat owner. Insisting multiple times that Jacob didn't want to wait in line at the animal ER rubbed me the wrong way because of my experience trying to get pet care in summer of 2021, which I believe is around the time of this whole neglected cat saga. That was a very difficult time to get any vet assistance, at least where I live. I'm surprised J was able to get a vet appointment as quickly as he did. I think Ethan and Hila are unaware of some of their privileges, which is understandable; but not caring to learn from non-privileged could become a pattern that makes me seek out a more relatable podcast to watch. (Plus there were a lot of other unfair assumptions/ insults made about J without proof, at least at the time of the call-in.) Details about my situation- In 2021, my elderly cat suddenly stopped eating, drinking, and walking. My regular vet couldn't give me an appointment for nearly two weeks, other vets weren't accepting new patients, pet ERs weren't even answering the phone, except for one that said we'd have to wait outside for up to 6 hours (was 90 degrees F and I didn't have a car). I'm not in LA but have lots of vets in my city. I got extremely lucky and a Petsmart called me back because they had a cancellation and offered that slot, despite not accepting new patients, because my cat's situation sounded so bad. (It was kidney failure and my buddy needed to have his suffering ended by euthanasia) Petsmart was amazing though. 🙌

I had a cat who passed away in 2021 and was able to take him to emergency care in one day as a new patient where I live. I'm not rich either I had to get help from family and friends to pay for it. I didn't know my cat had cancer until she stopped eating after 2 days. I had 2 cats so I wasn't sure until day two. It took me another day to get her to a cat hospital because the emergency animal hospital sent me there after she was there for tests. This was during Covid. She was 4, I had her since was 8 weeks old and was NEVER neglected. Covid complicated things. I couldn't even get my regular vet for a week. By then she was diagnosed with bone cancer that spread from her pancreas. She lasted just over a month. Nori was a pampered Bombay cat, but Covid animal care for inexperienced cat owners with limited funds or resources, and being a teenager...I think this kid deserves more credit for at least giving the cat care. Vets aren't cheap, and emergency vets are even more so. This girl didn't even chip the cat, which in Canada is less than 20 dollars. If she did, the vet would have notified her WHERE and HOW SICK her cat WAS. Also, legally, the vet would of reported her to the ASPCA. Technically, giving this cat the name Bella got her off legally and morally.

The one thing Ethan and some of the crew are missing about Jacob is how they were practically foaming at the mouth to slander this kid after the interview, when it was established from the start (and agreed upon) that Reghan was at best negligent of the cat, and the catalyst to the whole problem. It’s a human response to hundreds of people calling you an animal abuser and all the other unhinged comments that were made. It’s a legitimate concern to take an animal out of its home, change owners, and bring it around another cat when it’s already vulnerable. But I think he went a bit too hard on him, but no way worth all the hate he got. It was a really weird situation. I think they made it clear the 18 yr old girl should have taken the cat to the vet. And people saying he defended an abuser was a bit silly.

Regarding the cat segment subreddit comments- as someone who has watched Ethan for over a decade , I felt that uncomfortable or more so just disconnected during that segment that I didn't want to watch. When you and Hila double team someone like that, it's not really appropriate for someone calling in, especially when you don't really know everything prior and have the intention to bury them. Your tone and attitude changes from 'investigatory' to trying to intentionally get someone to look as bad as you want them to. Of all kinds of online drama, to absolutely bury someone over something about a cat who was neglected by a bunch of influencers 20 years of age, the mess ultimately makes itself. But you and Hila, didn't execute the interview right, its just the way it is. Hila in particular , her tone and condescending nature every response whilst someone who was being grilled live, to thousands , knowing she would have the backing of the crew just by default, very gross. Ultimately , if youre going to interview someone for the intention of just gaining further perspective, you leave emotion out of it and remain impartially neutral and level headed, you gave Fresh and Fit more respect for christ sake.

If nothing else you should at least reflect on why you came across as being unfair and arrogant on the last episode, even if you disagree. If not agree with the substance of the criticism - reflect why some things you said and behaved like came across not the way you might intended.
