i got a 04 CR-V with 256800K miles bought it with 140k haven't done anything to it other then brakes and fluid changes and fixed the oil pan gasket due to leaking that's it still runs and drives awesome

The Pontiac was probably owned by a Single Old Lady,that never checked or got the oil changed ! This happens more than you would know..Low mile cars that were never serviced,because their husband took care of them he passed and they just had no idea they had to,or just too old to remember,sad.. **FYI,this happens to Honda,Toyota,Hyundai,GM,Ford,Chrysler,VW,BMW.Mercedes ALL vehicles,so please no brand bashing lol..

In 1969, my brother bought a 1958 Pontiac with 32,000 original miles. Owned by an elderly lady. She had the oil changed when the book said, but that was so infrequently that the engine was full of sludge. She just drove it to the local grocery store. Beats me how she drove it. That car had manual steering, and a standard transmission. The stock clutch was 11" and was quite heavy.

Well to be honest I love Pontiac s but those 2.4 liter engines we're total shit. 3.4 wasn't better. You would be better off dropping a 3.1 or 3.8 in calling it a day.

My uncle rebuilt my aunt’s 67 firebird and got $14,500 for it. Rebuilt the motor and interior and body work. Was a lovely jade green with white leather interior and white convertible top.

If the rip in the boot is before the Mass Air Flow sensor it doesn't matter for runability besides getting dirt after the air filter. Now if the sensor was in the air cleaner box there and you had that rip in the boot before the throttle body then you'd have running issues.

I was looking at a Grand AM, but I got out bid. Cheap to buy, sell for a low price (with profit) where most anyone can buy with a 2 week paycheck and pay cash. At least ones without rod knock... As for the Buick Wildcat, what most likely happened, the seller probably listed it with a minimal starting bid. So the seller probably wanted at least $16,000, that was the starting bid, but had no bites. You'll often see high dollar classic cars where "someone" has bid $16,000 or so, Copart's VB3 will announce it as sold (you'll also notice that there will be no bidding war, the car goes up for auction and the counter simply counts down with nobody upping the bid), and then the car goes up for sale next week. I've seen it a lot.

Explore With Mika and Kai sadly a woman and 2 young children were in it when it got hit. Parked on I-44 west bound shoulder Turner Turnpike. A Chevy 1ton pickup going 95mph drifted on to the shoulder and hit the back of the car. No brakes at all. Hit the car at full speed. It was a 43yr old Grandma and a 5yr old boy and a 8yr old girl was killed instantly. The driver a 18yr old boy survived the crash. They determined he was texting and lost control of the truck and struck the parked car. It happened back in early March. I came by the accident after it happened. The car was knocked 250ft off the road.

probably not a rod most of the time those quad-4 engines have a timing chain tensioner that runs off of oil pressure if left to sit for too long it won't pump up sound just like a rod knock seen it several times.

You know on the grand am it'd probably take you about 4 hours to swap that engine out and the engines are usually very cheap like $300-$500

I see a lot of burned out vehicles, but most of them seem to be Ford trucks. Is there a problem with them, that you know of that causes them to catch fire? I saw the one episode where there was an aluminum body F150 or F250, that burned, and all that was left was the frame. The aluminum body melted away...crazy.

I read the comments where you said you did not bid because copart delayed getting you out. Two things A) you can bid at the yard and if you do you skip the “internet fee” B) down load the copart app on your phone and bid from there.

Hey Uber Man. That Impala that was smashed up happened just east of Oklahoma City out by Stroud OK.. A teenager hit the back of the car with a big Chevrolet 1ton pickup going 95mph. The Impala was stopped on the shoulder for some reason and the pickup slammed in to them. It killed 3 people. A woman and a 5and 8yr old. A grandma and grandchildren. It happened on I-44 west, Turner Turnpike. Hit the car so hard it 250 down in to a ravine below the turnpike. I came by after it happened. Then heard about it later on unloading at Coca Cola in OKC. It happened earlier this year.

Probably so. They prefer to move them quickly and don't want to waste manpower selling them off the lot. They also don't want a bad rep on social should something go wrong after purchase.

Chris Lemaster I worked in a junkyard almost 30 years ago. They made this engine in 2 versions. Single & double ohc. They really weren't good when new. We would get a lot of cars with these engines with issues.

Can find a quad 4 in the junkyards for 200-400 if the car goes cheap enough it would be worth the day to swap the engine. And the miles look original, by 50K the foam on the steering wheels starts peeling off and the dashes curl. Those grand ams were disposable but for over a decade it was GM's best selling single nameplate car.
