I don't remember how old I was when we started the tradition that I go fishing at the Okefenokee with my Dad, but I wasn't a teenager yet - I'm sure of that. We've missed a few years here and there, and this year I think it has been several years since I've been. This year though...we made it happen. Both of us are extremely busy - my dad is retired, but I think he might work more now than when he was retired:). (slow down dad:)). With the renovation and the farm, it's hard to get away, but I'm so thankful I did. The memories and stories we come back from the swamp with are some I never grow tired of telling, and some I'll never forget! It's always something new to see, and this year was no different! Nature is so fantastic!
If you've never been to the Okefenokee, I hope this convinces you to take a trip - even if in a tour boat at the refuge...although I do like being closer to nature than those boats are. They also rent canoes if anyone likes that kind of exploration - every inch is just amazing!
Come on along and be sure and watch every minute - it's a video you don't want to skip part of- if you do...I promise you'll miss something fun!
