@@haileysegundo6019 hey girl! I was on the same boat as you.. so usually theres a checklist they give your husband. You need to have some medical stuff signed by your pcm.. if your hubby is over there already you usually need a commander’s sponsorship.. also efmp office should be doing pretty much the work!

We were stationed in Okinawa back in 96-99. I enjoyed seeing all the updates to the base housing. Although I’m absolutely shocked they’ve put in carpeting now! All the housing I saw when we lived there had the tile flooring due to the humidity and how easily things could mildew there.

Put floors are not so pretty 😕 they look like they belong on hospitals, some people get lucky to have faux wood floors tho

Housing sure has changed from the 60s you actually have a dining room and a lot more space but it really looks nice .

I use to live in Naha Okinawa. Kedena use to have quansit housing. In Naha had a roller skating ring. If you can, would love the recipe and cooking video on the noodle soup that Okinawa is famous for. I remember just outside the base the rice processing houses, the fabric stores. We actually lived off base and was on a waiting list for on base housing. I was a kid at the time. In the 1960s. Maybe some videos on the island. Would love to see the island again. Thanks.

Army brat 1954-1957….our base housing came sparsely furnished…..very basic. You weren’t able to bring anything except your basic clothes, etc. things have changed. Looks like a home in the US. We had beautiful rattan furniture ..

Hi I don’t have a dog, I’m not sure about the limit but o do know you have to do overseas paperwork for them. And they will be under quarantine when you bring them over.

But we are in the waiting game as our list closes this Friday.. and then the wait begins.. but we will go where we are suppose to be at. We are currently in Germany.. My husband (air force) got stationed in Kadena Japan. Move there end of September... very nervous about it and the housing part of things. I have been told that when going to Japan they choose if you live off or on base? Which I’m hoping is on base.

Is there houses that are furnished when you move? We're moving in a month and a half and I have no idea what to ship to Okinawa since they said we only have 2000 lbs to ship

They will be furnished if you ask for government furniture so anything you need for furniture they will lend it to you and before you move in your house will be furnished ❤️ and as far as thing you bring just keep in mind that all houses are different we had two options for houses one of them was way to small as far as the dining room and our living room so we chose one that had more space it also depends on how many dependents you get some houses are smaller depending on your family size

Hi you're no bother ♥️ I am a stay at home mom but I was an MUA for 6 years so I guess you could say I worked but at my own times and at home, I'm a photographer but I am also a stay at home mom. The only jobs you could get here are on base, which are some fast-food restaurants, the px, bank, at school and some others, ive never worked on base so I couldn't tell you all the details.
