@@marym9245 Oklahoma is a perfect place to bug out to. We have constitutional carry in the state, we recognize conceiled carry permits from any other state, we have hundreds of lakes, millions of acres of forests, south eastern oklahoma has pine forests, north eastern has desert, and everthing in between. It is a beautiful place to live. I have lived here my entire life. Other than the 5 years I was gone in the Marine Corps.

The building NEXT to the building you're looking at (13:48 in the video) was the old ACH Hospital where Brad Pitt was born. My cousin was born there - the same month (December , 1963) as Brad. It was later turned into a hotel/apartment building, but there was a fire in the late 80s , and some of the rooms were burned ,so it was abandoned.

I have to agree with Ross Bennett! I graduated from Wagoner High, Wagoner, OK, in 1954. Eufaula was on our Foot Ball schedule. I last visited Wagoner 5 years ago for our 63rd class reunion. Down Town was almost unrecognizable. Only a few original residents still around. Most of my classmates are deceased. None of our old hangouts still exist. Very sad indeed. Thanks for the tour!

Next time you come to Oklahoma let me know. I don't have to meet up with you but I can help point out some lesser known things. Even in your former home town of Eufala. There is some old west history there as well as in some surrounding areas. There is also some interesting cemetery history in Eufala. The Hornbeck theater you showed in Shawnee just recently shut the doors for good. It was a really cool old theater that had been in operation for years. Another victim of the pabdemic. It was really cheap to see movies there. Shawnee has some cool music history as well as gangster history. There is also an Egyptian mummy there.

Thumbs up! I think your last visit here was one of my first videos watched. I visit my old homes, driving by all the time. I've lived in 25 different locations in my 44 years. Jim Varney advertised for Lusby's in one of the town's I lived in. Quite the success story, Jim Varney. If only he never smoked cigarettes. Taken too soon. It looked like Kevin James in his King of Queens was entering Braums when you filmed the front of the store. Outfit, mannerisms, and all!

Seeing the small town where you spent some teen years, flinging your sister and friends off the metal playground carousel, being banned from the only arcade in town, small town life in a way many of us will never know, all of this adds to your being in a way that explains a lot about you. Why was "flying" off the merry go round and climbing trees never dangerous as a kid but terrifying as an adult?? Funny thinking back,, as a kid everything in and on the playground was metal and always lots of gravel on the ground to help break your fall. Never a dull moment on the playground where adventures were only limited by your imagination.

Grew up about 20 miles south of Shawnee. Hamburger King is a great place for a hamburger. There used to be two of them, one in Shawnee, and on in Ada. They were founded in Maud, Oklahoma and owned by brothers. The one in Ada closed a few years ago. My mother worked at the one in Ada in the 1950s. Braums is great also, do not have them this far south(Austin, Texas). However, we do have Dan's Hamburgers. Dan's Founder, Dan Junk, learned the trade at Hamburger King in Shawnee! Great videos. (However it is sad to see the state of some of the towns you go through. The contrast with Austin(building new stuff all the time) is so great).

I love Braums, anytime I pass through OK I would always default to a burger, a shake, and take me home a gal of milk lol

First off, Natalie is adorable. Secondly, it is so interesting to see your old stomping grounds and to see the old backroads that not many people care about anymore.

I'm from the Ponca City area, but absolutely love lake Eufala. I make it point to visit every summer even though Kaw Lake is right in my back yard. Great vid!
