I enjoy the public land hunts, but can't get behind hunting over bait piles. Deer was broadside in the wide open and still couldn't make the shot. Hopefully that deer learned to avoid a corn pile.

That’s all good, it’s not for everyone and not everyone has the time to be in the woods enough to pattern deer. Seasons of life have to be adjusted for, it’s legal and he air mailed one. My advice is stay away from all feed trees, crop fields and any known food source. They are the same thing, just planted in ground. Good luck man……

@robertmyers7542 I have my view on it because I've been there and done it. Pouring corn in the middle of the woods where it isn't naturally supposed to be is not the same as hunting acorns, crop fields, etc. That's not every comparable. You tell yourself and me whatever you need to in order to feel good about baiting deer. It's it legal? Yes. Can you harvest a deer that way? Yes. But anyone can do it. "Hunting" has become box blind, food plot, feeders. But go shoot your buck over a bait pile, post the pictures on social media and get your likes and comments so everyone thinks you're the great white hunter. I would encourage everyone to try hunting highly pressured deer on public land and do it the right way within the law. You'll find out what the term hunting actual means.

Few years ago I made a bad shot on a doe and after bumping her twice I backed out and Slept in my truck so Id be there at first light . I found her 200 yards from where I shot her but the coyotes nd whatever else had simply Erased her over night I mean there was nothing but bone left.. I had to sell my bow right after that and havnt been able to get another one so can hunt again yet so just been a mess for me but Hoping i can soon though. Having some backstrap withdrawals
