I’ll be honest, came across this channel tonight and have watched multiple videos from you guys. Great hunting and enjoyable to watch. My only complaint is the amount of meat that you leave behind. The neck meat, the rib roll, brisket and inner tenderloins specifically. Not trying to start nothing. Just can’t see it and not say something about it. Keep up the good hunts!

The best part is the loins inside . I sure hope you took the time to get them. LoL

There is no one that impresses me as much as you do on KZbin. Folks like waddy and all them. They get invited to farms and places that have been pre scouted for them. I live about an hour from Jeremy and if I run into him someday I’ll be starstruck no doubt. This is the hardest thing I’ve ever done and you make it look easy as hell.

@@doityourselfhunter9031 10/4. I’m just now learning what I’m even looking for. Still not real sure. One minute I’m trying to learn topo maps the Next I’m worried I haven’t gotten the cameras out in time but then where am I gonna set them and what kind of sign am I looking for this time of year to set up on It’s a lot. Wish I had some friends who hunt as well. But luckily I got the cahaba river and public land right here in my backyard so I should hopefully put something together this year. Thanks for the videos. It’s fueling my new obsession.

I never have been out of Mississippi to hunt, but all I hunt is public land. I have wanted to go out of state to hunt for a few years now. When I found yalls channel I made my mind up. I will make my first trip out of state next year to deer hunt. Not sure where I want to go yet, most likely an over-the-counter tag state. Going to spend the next 9 months doing research on where I want to go.

I'm definitely glad I started watching you your doing what i dream of doing and your good at it. I would love to hunt at least a couple different states for whitetail other than my own. Iowa being one and Illinois and sorry for not saying before I'm chad rusher from Indiana pleasure to meet you. I've hunted out west in Colorado mostly I think for 9 years then Wyoming 2 years and South Dakota 1 year I could kill whitetail or muledeer there I got a muledeer. The other 2 states mule deer and elk some mostly mule deer. Haven't been for 3 years and that's my therapy I got to get back but anyway I'll always start sept out west mule deer then if I could hunt a couple different states other then my own every year I'd be in heaven. Thank you for giving me the motivation to do so so maybe by next season I'll have my head out of my you Know what and get out there and hunt. Thanks again good luck I'll be watching and god bless

Gotta a question. I am 66 just started hunting a few years back to support my brother having some addiction/jail issues. He told me he missed deer hunting (I just used to fish) I told him I would go deer hunting with him (to try to break that pattern). Anyway I haven’t harvested a deer yet but I’m going to in 2023. I need to use the quarter and debone method you and Daniel use so I called KY fish and wildlife they said its okay to do that in KY. My question is. Looks like you cut that head right in front of the ears and just continued around to remove it. Am I right, i need to start right in front of their ears? By the way, I am now ate up with this deer hunting thing. I have learned how beautiful the woods are in the winter, I used to think the woods were ugly in the winter. And I love scouting.

Great hunting style I do some of that similarly here in New York State ! Ohio in Colorado are my main bucket list And hope to get there soon after I retire in one year at an early age (61) Cool way to bone him out instead of dragging Congrats on a great buck ! Glad I came across your channel and Subscribed I kill some monsters here in New York Using similar tactics An owl my sister in new brother-in-law have me talked into buying a saddle ! Can't wait to try them next year And improve my mobility on public !

That's a dandy buck! I recently came up upon your channel and really enjoyed watching your videos. I am currently in Oklahoma myself, still after my public land buck this year. I've hunted and been successful in 3 states, I'm sure it isn't much compared to what you've done or where you're at, but there is something about taking a buck from a different state. My 3 states are New Mexico, Pennsylvania and Oklahoma. Keep the videos coming.

When you pick a state to hunt, do you research what counties have the best deer in them or do you just search the public lands for good spots? Like Iowa or Missouri have certain counties that have the biggest bucks in them per sq mile or whatever.

I kinda look for big buck, but don't try going for the best places. Look for weapon restriction it usually means older deer. I try to look for water {lakes and river} to find hard to get to spots.

I’d like to know more about how you skin out the head an is it a euro mount then or how do you do it if you want to shoulder mount it thanks for the videos
@doityourselfhunter9031

i am going to put a video out in couple weeks how I mount my deer horns. As to a shoulder mount you would have to cape the head out then cut the horn off. A euro mount you are going to boil all the brain out to be legal to cross state lines. This is why I do my horns like in the video coming out soon.

Some of those Oklahoma bucks are midgets , I am from Iowa , and I lived in Oklahoma for three winters , 2 1/2 years . I deer hunted in Oklahoma and saw an 8pointer that I thought was too far to shoot with 12 guage slugs . The shot never materialized ,so afterward I paced off to what I thought was the foot and a half tall dry grass . The grass was just over my ankles and was 75 yards away . The grass looked like it was taller because it nearly reached that bucks belly . It had a stunted 8 pt rack like the buck in this video . The branch that buck reached up and nipped and nuzzled , was probably only waist high to you . That buck was probably only 30 inches tall at the shoulder ... Maybe 150 pounds,live weight .... Nice video , thanks !

That missing tine can be replaced using a similar tine from a shed antler . I repaired many in 21 years of being a Taxidermist here in Iowa .

Just stumbled across your channel and really like your content if you don’t mind me asking what part of Oklahoma public land were you hunting? I live in northeast Oklahoma and don’t have any private land to hunt on so I try to hunt public land close to where I live but it gets hunted pretty heavily

I live in NE OK also. Try to find some Corps land around lakes and rivers. Most of the tracts that are archery only are barely hunted. Some of the ones that are 400+ acres hold some really nice deer.
