Oklahoma Sand Bass run 2023 @Low water

As the sand bass run nears, we head to low water to see if any have moved up yet. Usually, at the end of March through mid-April the sand bass in the areas head up river/creeks to spawn. They will hold the river until the water temperature reaches the desired temp. Up until they spawn they will be stacked up and feeding aggressively on shad. You can pretty much throw anything to catch them but the most popular are crappie jigs/grubs, Castmaster spoons, and Rooster Tail inline spinners. Just try to imitate shad colors and behaviors. Go try your luck and have some fun. These fish are fighters, especially in the current.

I can't over how much lowwater has changed over the yrs. Some of the biggest catfish I've caught was there at Low water

I live right off of lake Hudson. I fish that river 3-4 days a week.. I catfish but currently snagging aswell. If your down to catfish or snag sometime lmk

This is the low water dam that is just down from the dam for Lake Hudson.
