В сезоне 1992/93 этот дуэт только второй. А чемпионами Европы и мира 1993 года были Усова и Жулин. Вальс не ахти какой сложный у Жени и Оксаны. Поэтому 2 место в самый раз. И их тогдашние тренеры лепили кальку с себя образца 1978/79 годов. А делать шедевры это к Тарасовой. Хотя танцы сезона 1994/95 под музыку Битлз и "Степинг аут" Лайзы Минелли это шикарные танцы именно чемпионские. А вот это не ахти какой шедевр.

это гораздо сложнее,чем то,что показали Усова-Жулин.Плюс,произвольный танец этого года им ставила вовсе не Линичук,а Шанти Рюшполь,хореограф,ставивший ранее Дюшене, чемпионский танец Климовой-Пономаренко 1992 года,а в последствии Анисиной-Пейзера. И произвольный танец 1993 Грищук-Платова также гораздо сложней,чем у Усовой,плюс хореография безусловно интересней. Они без вопросов должны были выигрывать этот чемпионат,но Усовой-Жулину его отдали за выслугу лет плюс в связи с судейским сговором,относительно которого было проведено жесткое разбирательство,под которое попали 6 из 9 судей этого чемпионата. По поводу "шедевров"Тарасовой- ну это такой бред,что просто смешно. Чемпионские программы Оксаны и Жени 1997-1998 годов ставили другие люди,Тарасова осуществляла,что называется "общее руководство"и присваивала себе лавры. Там Чайковская больше толка внесла.

@@user-pm7sw9pw6m да, произвольный танец 1993 года у них самый лучших из всех програм, которые они у Линичук имели (именно потому что не Линичук его ставила). Хотя по словам Оксаны, они же потом и имели проблемы с Линичук из за него, потому что посмели за свои же деньги пригласить хореографа

The truth is, even though I think this is their weakest OD, I kind of agree with you. They always had that youthful exuberance that I found appealing and it was here in abundance in this OD. It was more appealing than Usova & Zhulin's OD for sure. But in comparison to their quickstep, tango, blues, polka, or even paso doble, samba, etc., I'm not sure if this one stacks up favourably. However, it might be because it's the one I'm least familiar.

You can tell Linichuk is concerned when the 2nd set of marks and ordinals come. They were expected to cruise to the silver at these Worlds yet 4 judges have them 3rd or 4th so Krylova/Fedorov and the Finns were closing on them, and 3 of those 4 judges went down on the 2nd mark from the first which is rare in dancing.

I wonder if the fallout from Zhulin's affair with Grishuk a year earlier and all the negative publicity led to this team almost being dropped in 1993. They received much higher marks at Europeans earlier that season. Either way, I've changed my mind somewhat about this OD. I no longer think it's their weakest OD. I think their rhumba in 1994 deserves that title. This one has an energy and joy that's actually quite appealing.

@@user-rq7zw6zh4q It was way too aggressive for a rhumba. The rhumba is a soft, subtle, and intimate dance and their OD didn't fit that at all. However, their performance at Worlds was much better than the one they gave at the Olympics as they toned down the attack.

@@gk891 they were lucky that from 1994 onwards, OD's were quickstep, paso, tango, jive - all of them much more suitable for Oksana's temperament, quickness, and sharpness).

@@MsRumex Very much so. I do think that this waltz is kind of underrated though. I love its energy and joie de vivre. I personally preferred it to Usova & Zhulin's.

This is probably the weakest OD of their entire careers. This was just a little too aggressive for a waltz. I was interested in seeing it again because I hadn't seen it since 1993 so thanks for posting it.

@@azbycx56 I don't see them struggling with their handholds at 1:08 or 1:16. They were meant to be like that. As for T&D, they did a stunning Westminster Waltz CD at the 1984 Olympics.

No one can be equally great in all dance styles. I find waltz is Oksana's weakest dance (not technically but more in terms of grace and softness). And here they kind of created waltz OD that has a bit of a march wibe.
