Lived in Atlanta for 40 years before moving up to the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, so my friends and I would often make the one-hour jaunt up to Helen. Came alone a few times as well just to escape. Probably been there 100-120 times by now and never quite get tired of it. Glad you all enjoyed your visit! =)

Thanks Will and Dawn. Always love the videos. Know how much work the filming, editing, story telling, music etc is. Just had back surgery and layered up for a bit. We used to go to Helen when we lived in Georgia many years ago before we relocated to Sevierville. We really enjoyed seeing Helen again on your video. Glad to see the Holland shop is still there. It was one of our favorites and purchased Dutch items from there. My Dad's family came from Holland many years ago before moving to Germany. I'm first generation American so loved the German influence and restaurants of Helen! Thanks so much for sharing and bringing back some great memories of Helen!!

Hi ALL Looked like you all had a great time. My 3 sister in laws and I went o Helen Georgia for a girls trip back in June and we all had a great time there. We stayed in a cabin about 10 minutes out of town which was really nice tucked in the woods. I got the idea to go to Helen from your video last year when you went there with Chris and Mindy.. It was fun seeing you guys filming at the shops and restaurants that we visited when we were there. Thanks so much for all your fun videos that you share with all of us watching.... We were in Helen for our anniversary in June. There's a German restaurant above the area were the bear garden music was (above that bar you filmed). It was wonderful. I loved visiting Helen.

Awesome we moved to Georgia in 2001, and went to Helen in 2005, it has grown so much, remember going to seeing an Elvis Presley impersonator when we went to Octoberfest then , will probably go back next year , will plan ahead , Thanks

I believe it's called Delft (Delft Blue) .. the items you liked in blue and white. I have a pair of wooden shoes my mother bought in Holland in the early 50s. Very uncomfortable. I'm sure they were made for display only. I'd love to try a pair made to be worn. I'm in Rome GA and can't wait to get to Octoberfest. It will be my first year.

Hello . We are going in Oct for the first time . Since you been here , is there parking that can pay 1 price for all day & close to town ? My husband has 2 leg braces & cane . Our hotel days in is to me a distance to walk . From the map. Hotel had no information for us to park . We are coming from Stone Mountain first thing sun am . Seen a lot of stores from your video that want to see . Just hope my husband can do it in time . Other people on reviews said not good for handicap people so has me worried . Have a good day . Any information you have will help

The color Deflt Blue is the color of pottery and ceramics from Holland. We special ordered hand painted Deflt tiles for our kitchen. Expensive and lovely.

You should go over to Dillard GA and do a review of the Dillard House restaurant. They have lots of things to do there and in the area. There's a hotel as well. Easy for you to get there...just take 441 just over the Tennessee Georgia state line.
