Helen is great place but the main drag is alway bumper to bumper. We live in Gainesville ga it’s a nice mc ride for us. The grit mill sells the best grits if you like grits. The restaurant on the back side of the main street are the better places to eat. We usually eat at Big Daddy’s.

Hi Chad and Tara. We love state parks and camp during the week when we can. Starting Sunday afternoon! Oh, and camping in later Sept. after Labor Day is wonderful too. My husband washes our dishes outside on the picnic table. He has a tub and gets a 5 gallon bucket of water from the water spigot. It saves filling up the gray water a lot. He also heats up water on his Coleman stove. It is a nice system, I cook and he does dishes.

We've stayed at one RV park that has the office all the way at the back like that. In fact, there isn't even a good turn-around area by the office, so big rigs should stay out of that section. As you enter the campground, there's a big sign saying to stop and call them. They send someone out to get your name and lead you to your site. Another RV park we've stayed in, the office is most of the way through the cg on a sort of main road, but a sign makes it look like it's off to the side, which led us to get into a section that wasn't very convenient. Free laundry?! That's the first place I've heard of with that. We're self-contained, so it wouldn't help us, but it shows a great attitude to the guests in general. When I douse a fire, it stays doused. Maybe the next fire will be harder to start, if it's in the next couple of days, but a flat piece of wood as a base will fix that. Not at a dump station, but at a site with sewer hookup, I saw someone, apparently new to RV camping, try to dump the black first, and his slinky was not at all secured to the service. Black water went everywhere. For those times we just don't want to do dishes, we have disposable supplies. We rarely use them, but when we need them it's very handy. I wouldn't want to use that dump station either. Maybe find a site with sewer hookup, and get into it just long enough to dump the tanks. I had AllTrails, a paid subscription I think. But when I tried using it, I found the trail maps either missing for where I was, or very wrong. Then I lost my phone, and when I replaced it I couldn't remember my creds for the account, and haven't bothered looking for them. It *seems* like a great idea. I wonder if I was just unlucky with where I tried to use it.

Sorry your Christmas plans were changed, but your cabin looked so cozy with the snow falling ❄️⛄️ Thanks for sharing with us! I had to admit I chuckled over the doody section of the video, it doesn’t surprise me anymore with how people are, they just don’t care because they don’t have to clean it up. Just like public washrooms, so sad 😞 I was surprised that nobody was sent immediately from the campground to clean it up when you notified them. That’s just nasty 🤢 Anyways haha, cheers from BC, Canada 🇨🇦

Tara, I'd like to encourage your interest in learning archery. I took an archery class in high school and at the end of the semester ended up taking 3rd place in a national archery tournament! Archery is a great way to build upper body strength, especially when using a simple bow versus a compound bow. I used a bow with a 25 lb draw when I first started, but gradually moved up to a 35 lb draw, as I continued practicing archery after my class ended. It's a very calming sport to participate in, kinda Zen-like, as breath control and rather extreme (if short-term) concentration is required to make accurate shots. It's also not a sport that is very physically demanding in that you are in many ways just standing in one spot while exercising almost every single muscle in your upper body. Give it a try, I think you'd enjoy it!
