It's actually called Oktoberfest because the first one was on the 12 of oktober 1810 in celebration of a royal wedding and it just got an anual thing but after like 100 years they decided that it's to cold in oktober so they pushed it to september, the name stayed because everyone was used to it. I am from munich (where it takes place) so i am pretty sure about it. Laughed really hard at your outfit choice though. Loved the song because it actually always iritated me when i was younger

Why is Oktoberfest called "Oktoberfest" when it actually begins in September? The historical background: the first Oktoberfest was held in the year 1810 in honor of the Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig's marriage to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. The festivities began on October 12, 1810 and ended on October 17th with a horse race. In the following years, the celebrations were repeated and, later, the festival was prolonged and moved forward into September. By moving the festivities up, it allowed for better weather conditions. Because the September nights were warmer, the visitors were able to enjoy the gardens outside the tents and the stroll over "die Wiesen" or the fields much longer without feeling chilly. Historically, the last Oktoberfest weekend was in October and this tradition continues into present times.

Yes, Oktoberfest starts next weekend 🍻 and will go on for two weeks so it basically starts in September and continues into october. In primary school I learned that it starts in September already because it is getting colder in Germany now, so the earlier, the warmer the better 👗🍻 And Oktoberfest just begins at the last weekend in September. That's not weird. That's just perfect. Octoberfest is the best time of the year on Munich 👍
