Okuma Rockaway Surf Fishing Rod product review

Today I'm going to show you all about the Okuma Rockaway 12 foot surf fishing rod. The rod I have was made for Fishbites so there are a few adjustments from the original Rockaway but it's basically the same fishing rod. Check it out!

I bought my first Okuma Rockaway 12' Medium Heavy 3 years ago. They are the best surf rod for the price bar none. My Ugly Stik BigWater is so heavy that I can have a nice whiting on not knowing it till I check my bait. With the Rockaway the other day I got a bite and landed a pilchard of all things. That speaks to how sensitive they are but still, they have the backbone to land large fish. Amazing rods for around $100.

I can’t agree more. I do distance casting. Average 135 yds. With Okuma Rockaway 12ft original rod over 10 good years.

🎣 How did the rod tip break,? ... 🙂 🎣

Oh man, someone had to ask 😂 my son and husband were helping me get things out of the car and somehow in the process the tip of the rod broke. Takes a lot to get me mad, but I’ll admit I was a bit miffed at that moment 😂 I didn’t know it was an easy fix to put a new guide at the tip, I thought the whole rod was unusable. Thank goodness we have a local tackle shop that fixed it fast for like $7

@@Fishin-Girl , - Thanks for the reply,!.. I didn't mean to be personal but I like to know how some rods break,! ... I was wondering if the rod tip snapped in a casting action,!.. 😊 That does happen on an overload and or with a real faster snap casting start. I have replaced some rod tip rings or guides on broken off rod tips, due to other breaks. I do rod ring binding by hand, 🎣

🎣 a broken off front rod section, that has a front ring or guide replaced, has a different action as to what it was designed and made for,! I have a 14ft rod that had a foot broken off, (not my fault,) I bound a tip ring or guide on and I am satisfied with the casting action aswell! 🎣

@@michaeleverton4882 yes, it doesn’t have as much bend and sensitivity as it used to have. But it’s still enough to see when fish are biting 🤷🏻‍♀️🎣🐟

🎣 I don't mean to be personal but I would not buy one of those rods for shore, - rock and surf angling, - fishing, like we do. I have good quality rods for shore fishing, not the top quality ranges as they are too expensive, 🎣

These are not for all shore fishing situations. They only have a 4 oz lure weight limit. No problem 👍🏼
