Atulji, I'm from OLA community, Bangalore. We recently did a ride to the OLA future factory from Bangalore as part of the independence day celebs. There were 70 OLA scooters took part in the march. We covered 250 kms roundtrip. I really wish you had joined us.

We would recommend the Ather. Ola’s software will need stabilising. May take 6 months to a year.

Awesome know how on Ola scooter. It is really an excellent vehicle... when its for Indian roads need more build quality, after sale service.... ola should seriously think of identifying few good garages and make them as Authorised Service Centre in every location... then nobody can beat ola...

The touch screen uses resistive technology instead of capacitive used in phones, hence the screen is usable in rain.

Please also make a video about the Ather450x . Ather 450X thoughtfully designed and engineered , or I should say over engineered. They’ve very well engineered the obvious aspects like thermal management and also parts like side stand , mirrors ( you cannot remove mirrors in ather 450x they are important structural support for the front head body panel. So unfortunate for many Indians they won’t be removing the mirrors of their ather , hence increasing road safety ). There are many small , overthought and over engineered aspects about this scooter that I’d ( we’d ) like to watch uncovered on this channel.

Not sure I agree with the battery chemestry comment. LMC batteries work well in ev used in hot climates worldwide, and switching to LFP would add size and weight to match the range. LFP batteries would also have delayed the release and while better at managing high temperatures, they are also prone to thermal runnaway. They would be an excellent choice for the non pro S1 or an entry level low cost design

IMP: Please do episode on below topic: Since last few weeks there is out of proportion propoganda against EV fire in MSM. I think petrol lobby paying heavily to spread the propoganda. There are at least 2Lac+ EV 2 wheeler running on Indian roads. How many fire incidences you heard so far? Probably not more than 10-15. In other words your EV catching fire has chances of less than 0.0075%. That is just negligible but the propaganda and paranoia being created is completely out of the proportion. Just do a simple KZbin search for Petrol 2 and 4 wheeler catching fire, you will find hundreds of the videos. Yes, in ideal world not even single battery should blast but unfortunately we don't live in the perfect world.

Also, Ola is not the only scooter that features regenerative braking (as claimed by this narrator), TVS iQube does too. There could be others too that I do not know of....

OLA seems to have done a bad job with the scooter, they bought Etergo but didn't seem to have properly Indianized the scooter to suit local environment which was evident in the initial deliveries as many users were talking about heating issues and it had also lead to fires. Also many employees were leaving OLA which suggests possibly they might not be taking a good approach towards their product / services. One can only hope they fix the issues and improve, but just compare it with Ather who worked on most of the stuff in house and made a product which suits the local environment and so far they haven't had much issues. With the current state of heat issues with OLA scooters, the big boot space is to store fire extinguishers. Not sure if the front suspension is strong enough cause the one head on accident seems to have broken it completely. They have so many software bugs with the scooters going in reverse in full speeds but hopefully there has been no causalities so far regarding this as haven't seen any in the news. Ola overhyped which is still acceptable as marketing gimmick but the issues with the product puts the customers in danger which is very bad and this has is very bad for the EV market as OLA has been in limelight since they announced the scooter.
