Posted by www.nostalgoteket.se I know I have made two version before of this song featuring beach movies, however I was not really satisfied. So this is a new version completely. Here I've used Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine (1965) as a base, actually this segment fits the music perfectly, no cuts needed! That would be too easy though so I've added Pasha (1968), Les Aventuriers (1967), Pierrot le fou (1965) and Psycho a go-go (1965).
Ola & the Janglers were a garage rock and beat group from Sollentuna, Sweden, founded in 1962. Its lead member was Ola Håkansson. With Claes "Clabbe" af Geijerstam joining Ola & The Janglers around the year-end 1965-66, the group began to move higher on the charts. "Love Was On Your Mind" would have certainly become a worldwide hit if the Rolling Stones had recorded it; at least, the song became a big hit in Sweden and Ola & The Janglers' first one in the Top Ten. There would be more of them to follow. The group's 1969 hit "Let's Dance", a cover of the Chris Montez song, reached #92 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Ola went on to form Secret Service and had a succesfull career all over europe.

Wish I could go back in time to be with these gorgeous girls. They knew how to dance and looks like it was so much more fun in that time than living in the crappy world of today with all the PC's cell phones, tatoos and fat girls.

Ok, I believe the girl dancing with the stripped shirt and white slacks in the beginning is Anna Karina and the movie is Pierrot le fou (1965).

Even before I listened to this version , I knew I wasn't going to like it. nothing could be as good as the original . Right ? Wrong! This is an excellent cover, maybe a little smoother and more refined than Chris Montez's version. The bottom line is that it is just a great song . Recorded over a half century ago and still going strong. Reflects the mood and spirit of the early sixties.

Some of the footage of the go-go chicks on the tiny stage with mirrors is from The Al Adamson Sleaze classic *Psycho A-Go-Go*. The footage with space chicks in front of mirrors is from The Mario Bava/Vincent Price film *Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Bombs*. Sorry, I didn't recognize Steve Marriot and company to give you a good answer. Could you give me a time, so I might help you better?

Kim Lima Couldn't help notice you gave me thumbs up on a comment on a *completely* unrelated Alice Cooper clip and this post in such short time. Am I leaving some sort thread out there that's easily followed? I haven't had a stalker since the 90's, so I have red flags going of. Or maybe my ex-girlfriend was right when she told me "It's all about you, isn't it?". She accused me of being a narcissist. I told her, "Nah. There's not enough in it for me"...

+Adrian Lackey According to the IMDB there are 2 "Dr. Goldfoot" films: "Bikini Machine" of 1965 and "Girl Bombs" of 1966. It seems that the latter has been used here, given the presence of actors Franco and Ciccio (at 2:20).

Ted Smith Hi there! It certainly did chart here in the U.S. my friend!...Exactly 48 years ago this week, back on June 7, 1969, this fine lil' ditty climbed to #92 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart! (which is much too low in my humble opinion!)...Hope that helps a little, and have a sensational summer! Take Care! Elizabeth💿🎧📻🎤📟🎵
