(NO COMMONTARY, But some at the end!)
So, the jam of games has ended so I played another one that I had my eyes on. This one's defiantly has a style to it like with the backgrounds and some props in the background.
Oh, right I got to give a rating to this...UMMMMmmm I give it an 8.
I like this a lot, but It's defiantly not finished. Still awesome though!

@@itswa It's the Kauai 'O'o, and this sound is the last record of its mate call. And supposedly this is the last of its kind looking for a female that would never answer. Yeah straight up the Flash event

Just noticed the bird call in the forest was that of a Kauai 'O'o. An extinct bird and the pauses in the audio of the bird singing is where the female is supposed to butt in. A very cool detail I didn't notice on my first playthrough.

No worries, only recording problem was that I had to widen the screen while editing the video, so that might have been why not a lot of people record a vid for it. Also, I really enjoyed the tracks, great job man.

the mention of joy made me think that the forest sequence was going to be this weird extended hallucination, glad it didn't go in that direction

At least this is the only fangame that we see that olathe in the past is as faithful to olathe as it is in real life, but if I see the real olathe and well, at least I see that the olathe that made this fangame does notice how faithful it is the buildings and other minimal things, being this fangame it can serve as a good reference for many fangames for the pre-flash flashbacks of the past

the lisa time period is somewhere in the 1960s. There would not be any sky scrapers. Olathe is poor.

I know we only saw a brief snatch of pre-Flash Olathe in the prologue here, but I would honestly love to see more fangames that delve into life before/shortly after the apocalypse. There's a lot of potential in those initial weeks of confused uncertainty where order might still have been _(barely)_ maintained by the idea that scientists could somehow be able to whip up a cure for half of humanity vanishing off the face of the planet _(or find a - canonically unsuccessful, naturally - way to birth more women from stored egg cells)_ coupled with the government's attempts to keep control for however long the typical man on the street still somewhat believed in the idea of civilisation.

Positives: -the reimagining of Olathe is nice. a fresh take on the flash apocalypse that highlights the beauty of a quieter world as well as the softer side of humanity -a central theme of art and expression is really interesting -on that note, the backgrounds look stunning -the sequence of the Master going to burn down the forest was good stuff. how it slowly dawns on you that he's lying,t he reveal of what the lighter's for, the betrayal felt by the elder over a fiery red backdroup. easily the highlight of the demo -the cut to the flash in the prologue was really neat -the heavy breathing in the dream sequence was unsettling, in a good way Negatives: -the comedy misses the mark. feels like there was an attempt to replicate the dark humor of Lisa the Painful, but it comes off as awkward and shallow. -we needed more development of the Master and Servant's bond. build up the former as the wise, patient mentor and the latter as a bright-eyed upstart. I felt myself not caring as much as I probably should have when there were emotional beats between the two, and I feel a few more fun exchanges (or even impromptu art lessons) could greatly help that. -the way the reveal was handled was just awful. I was really intrigued as to why exactly the Master would do what he did, but his over-the-top speech took me right out of it. sounded like a B-list supervillain monologue. the Servant's promise to show him humanity felt super forced and unnatural too. something a kid would never say, let alone anyone outside of a script. this needs some big changes to make work, though my vote would be to scrap it altogether and build up the Servant's distrust of the master over time -the Master should have more skills from the start. he's been painting for decades now (and has 25 levels), why not give him a wider toolbox to show that and demonstrate the gap between Master and Servant through gameplay? feels like a missed opportunity. Overall? I think this game has a lot of potential. There's certainly some fascinating themes present here that are unique to Lisa and the fangames, and I can tell the creator(s) have something to say. But lifting the setting and gameplay alone means the game's writing can't build on the ideas of the original, so it'll have to do a lot more legwork to end up with a quality product.

Just finished it and I think you're right about everything, like, I don't judge the writing on the kid so much but it is indeed a bit off. Also, I think that the comedy is great, I just think that it could be paced better between dramatic moments, it seems like they make both the dramatic moments and the nonsense moments too big between each other.

Very good modding skills! I just wanna say i appreciate the fantasy aspect, but i dont think it really makes sense In a lisa fangame. These fantsy creatures are striving too far from the lisa feel. Its good to be different, but it wont make sense if it's unrecognizeable. This feels more like its own game. Old boys motives are unclear, as the project to burn down an entire civilization is stemming from his lost love? Makes all the Drama feel uninspired and misguided. If hes gonna be a antagonist he needs to act more like one. Lastly, Id like better design for these characters! Old man barely has any defineable features and uncanilly resembles elton broll from timeless. Plus, Id appreciate if you made the place dirtier. Too clean for a lisa civilization. Thanks, and great work! PS. Kit is fucking weird
