@NcrMotorcycles Enfield launched Lightning in both 500 and 535 cc variants for very few years around 2000. Few were exported too. This model was actually the mother of first CDI Thunderbird. Royal Enfield discontinued it due to too low sale and launched some what similarly looking Thunderbird with the a change of AVL engine which was originally designed by joint collaboration of Enfield with AVL Company of Austria for Machismo A350 and with another difference of introducing 5 speed gearbox with left side heal toe gear lever to target customers who could switch from other bikes to an Enfield. Before Thunderbird came into existence, a concept model of Lightning 350 with CDI Ignition, AVL engine and LHS 5 speed gear box was developed by Enfield but it was never released for sale to public.

For example, I rather like the looks of some of those new "retro" Jawa 42s shown at www.autopromag.com/jawa-jawa-42-details/, but I do not believe they're planning to export them to the USA at all. But then I have a 2005 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 "Military" in that shade of green civilians cannot own in India, it being reserved for the military or police under the Indian Transport Laws. It may surprise Indians to learn that Royal Enfields are quite rare over here. Until very recently few Americans, even bikers, had even heard of Enfields. Their new 650 twins seem to be changing that. Another difference is that nearly all the Bullets sold here in the USA or Canada have been 500s, and not the 350s that are far more popular in their home market. In fact, the few 350s exported here were of the original Iron Cylinder Engine "pre-unit" type in the '90s. Most here preferred the bigger 500s, because our roads are so much faster, so Enfield never even bothered exporting the newer-style 350 UCE Bullets. Fact is, even driving a 500 Bullet here can be challenging on our faster highways, which most Bulleteers try to avoid. Still, I hear they might try exporting the new Meteor 350s here.

@@BilgemasterBill i don't think US and Canada are ever going to be offered smaller engine capacity, they have Asia (south Asia to be specific) mainly for that, it sucks you don't have all the variants available but honestly it would be of no use as you said people like bigger engines over there, just like Harley failed in india (mainly because of high import duty) i think RE 350s would meet the same fate in US/Canadian markets....
