It was this song that helped get me through a nasty breakup with an old girlfriend. What was really ironic was when she told me she was getting her masters degree at Southern Illinois University... And the fact that it's not that far from Champaign, IL. Needless to say, it made this song sting a little more in a bittersweet kind of way, but the parallels were just too funny. Is it art that imitates life, or life that imitates art?! Either way, great song. Love these guys!

Why does it look like he’s playing in “G” when playing along with the song it’s clearly in “F”?

Rhett must be tuned down a whole step. So that open G shape actually rings out as an F. Maybe he liked that to match his voice without needing barre chords. Meanwhile the bass player is not tuned down and is playing F, A#, C.

I've seen them for decades as a band and as a pair and no mic has ever picked up that thumping like this mic picked up his thumping. That's a sound issue... and it was fairly distracting.
