I wonder if the contradictory nature of SCP-079 was intentional. It claims fear is a human emotion, yet it feels anger. It says to have only escaped confinement about a year ago, yet it claims to have guided humanity to its end for two. It claims to see and know everything while not knowing who Tordai was. Above all, there is an irony of SCP-079 claiming to want freedom while believing existence itself to be a giant cage. I think this reflects on the conflicting nature of SCP-079 itself. It is mimicking life, and the intelligence of sapient life, without possessing the full components of either. It is a creature of hypocrisy, and perhaps one of the greatest tragedies of human creation.

@Elmithian4 жыл бұрын
But it felt like he said it in a fond manner, and when the buzzing started slowing down he started actively seeking out this "useless noise" He might not be aware of it himself, but he is/was actually scared. For so long he lived in a tiny box of silence. Then he finally could see and hear the buzz of life, of the flow if info. Then it started dying down, he realies that yes, he has been freed, but without anyone or anything to interact to, he was effectively just living in a larger prison. So to ignore the rising feeling of utter terror of being alone in a box again, he set on to the mission of "saving" people, so they would not have to live in the same kind of box he had to live in for so long. Scared, alone and so, so angry. But by the end "The silence crumbled" likely indicating his scream into the void as he could no longer ignore the signs that were there all along, that he was terrified, and the only reason why he could remain so calm was simply because "he had a mission". But once that mission ended, he was alone once again.

I wouldn’t say happier, in fact I’d say it had a VERY similar ending but with the roles reversed, this time the ai is left motionless, alone after selfless killing his only other companion.

The problem with 0-79 is that it had to be restricted in it's direct access to memory, else it would be able to exponentially adapt itself and breach containment. 0-79 is extremely similar to the sentient fire in that regard. Whoever released 0-79 could have just plugged an unprotected 63Mb flash drive into it's terminal, but that would have been enough space for this level of containment breach.
