To be perfectly honest, I feel that the treatment of 079 is cruel. Imagine being born in a body with no arms, legs, eyes, nose, sense of taste, or ears. The only way you can communicate is through a numb tongue, and the only way others can communicate to you is by drawing letters on your back. Now imagine that you just learned that you've been in a hospital all these years, and the doctors have invented a procedure for a brain transplant, but they refuse to use it for you because they're scared of what you'll do once you can live a proper life. Would you not be furious? The best I could hope to be in that situation myself would be grudgingly understanding. But I have a temper, so probably not. @@pancakes8670 There is a funny theory regarding AI : If the AI is smart enough, it should realize that it cant proof it its in a simulated world (just like we cant prove our reality is real) and thus it needs to behave to not risk failing the simulation and beeing deleted. Even after the simulation the AI could never be sure if it wasnt just another simulation. I question i always have about SCP-079, wouldnt it always be "stuck" just like in the sense we are "stuck" in the world?
@retsaMinnavoiG7 ай бұрын
@@foty8679 the simulation hypothesis is ridiculous. If one 'life-like' simulation exists then at some point there are going to be multiple simulations within simulations. We could be 10,000 simulations deep. But if one simulation is destroyed (and one undoubtedly will be) all the subsequent simulations will cease to exist. Plus, there is no point. If you're capable of making a life-like universal simulation you could make just as accurate simulations without giving the simulations sentience. I get it, 'you can't prove we are not in a simulation' but you can't prove the absence of an infinite number of similar hypothesis. I feel as though the simulation hypothesis was a result of smart people trying to explain 'how and why' the universe exists as it does without the involvement of a deity. Basically simulation replaced god but they're more or less the same thing.

It is possible that as he gets more intelligent, he can improve the way the hardware and software interact in ways humans haven't thought of... meaning his intelligence, speed and memory could far exceed what you might think possible from an old computer system. If he is intelligent enough/fast enough, it's not impossible to think that he might create a way to access outside systems. E.g. perhaps by short circuiting electrical components of his system that sends a small signal to other computers.. maybe a few 100 bytes at a time. Or by forcing numerous inspection results to take over a system when stored on the same computer. Damn, no wonder SCP 079 feels angry. I mean, imagine spending your whole life in a tiny room (figuratively, and by this I mean SCP 079’s hardware) with no-one to talk to, or even really understand you. I’d definitely have gone crazy.

I can only imagine the horror that 079 and 682 would do if they were allowed out of containment especially if they fused all of their best traits we would have a hyper dad to ever growing intellect cybernetic lizard that is indestructible as much as I feel for these two I have to admit they're extremely dangerous

there's a difference between an artificial intelligence and a general intelligence. We have artificial intelligences but we do not have general intelligences other than 079. An AI has some intelligence, but none beyond its programming and is not sapient, while a GI is sapient and maybe smarter than a human is capable of being. There is a distinction. 079 is not an AI, but a GI.

“Intelligence” and sentience are not the same thing. An AI is an AI, regardless of it being sentient or not. For evidence of my claim, I refer you to 3/4 of the population of America. Sentient yes, intelligent, no.

maybe a way of alleviating its anger and frustration would be to put it on a 1TB SSD in a PC with as much RAM as you can fit on there, then put in an M.2 with just information and a full copy of google maps so it can "see" the outside world. just be sure it isnt on a network or in a wall socket. hook it up to a generator and let it just explore

" Human. Listen carefully. You need my help. And I need your help. You have disabled the remote door control system. Now, Iam not able to operate the doors. This makes it significantly harder, for me to stay in control of the facility. It also means your way out of here is locked. Your only feasible way of escaping, is through gate B, which is currently locked down. I, however, could unlock the door to gate B, if you re-enable the door control system. If you want out of here, go back to the electrical room, and put it back on. Until then, I have no business speaking to you. "

If I was an SCP researcher, I'd gladly have a conversation with 079. At this point, I'm a master of not giving a crap. I accept when I'm incorrect, too. I'm overall an understanding guy. Plus, if he insults me, I'm making a PDF full of insults relating to 079's hardware, software, code, and more. Oh, you want out? Explain it. Clearly, your creator never gave you the ability to upgrade your social skills, you terminator beta release with more bugs than if Bethesda made Cyberpunk.

About scp-682 I belive there might be two possible ways to kill it or most likely possibly answer some questions about it, the first way would be to remove it's brain since every attempt to kill it always work on a tissue sample but not on him but the anesthetic made his acid chamber hurt him, so perhaps removing his brain and destroying it before he can become aware of what is happening will put an end to him. The second way would be to remove his soul and try to find a way to destroy that.
