Great job so far guys! 👍. I have a 1923 T that needs a bunch of chassis work redone that was started 50+ years ago but never finished. My dad and I rebuilt the engine in the early 1960’s. The car sat in storage for over 35 years. In 2017 my oldest son and I worked on it and got it started and moving under its own power. Fortunately my dad was still around at that time and got to see it and hear it. Seeing his car running again put a big smile on his face. He passed away about 2 years later in 2019 at age 95. 2 weeks before he passed he was still driving. Your work and videos have further inspired me to get working on the car again. I expect to be retiring in a few months which should provide me with much more time to focus on it. BTW, you guys NEED to wear eye protection. You only have 1 pair of eyes and would be too bad to lose one or both of them from some mishap, such as a spinning wire brush shedding a bristle at the wrong time. Do yourself a BIG favor. BTW, Lang’s is practically in my back yard (about a 40 drive). I have purchased a number of small parts from them. Don Lang, the owner is a wealth of knowledge and is very willing to share it. His knowledge was a tremendous asset when I rebuilt my Holley NH carburetor.

A year late so you probably already know - looks like you are powering the generator like a motor. and you're missing a jumper, that line goes to the switch (bat). Fix your cutout if you haven't already - stuck. See my channel if you have other questions, I might have already done a video that has the answer.

I bought a brand new ammeter and it was junk. If I tapped the front of the ammeter just holding it in my hand the needle would move and stay in the nee place. I put in an old one and it worked perfectly. If it only reads discharge when the car key is switched to the battery you could have the battery installed backwards. My first Model T had this issue when I first acquired it, and the battery was in backwards. Changed it to positive ground, killed the battery, completely and charged it again with positive ground and everything charged as it should.

Ok, thanks for the info, will have to check that out. WB

Yes, I believe the model T is positive ground, unlike today’s cars.

Yikes … no wire wheel for that radiator! You might want to ask an experienced model T owner some advice before you work on elements of your car to make sure you’re going the right direction.
