Pikes Peak Motor Company. A walk through their lot full of classic cars waiting to be bought. These have been good guys to deal with for me thru the years. Lots of cool stuff. My kind of people.

Keeps getting better . I am glad I stumbled onto your videos . Solid is golden especially when you restore old cars and live in the North East part of the USA . New Jersey is a hard climate on steel and rubber, wish I had a Colo. or Texas car . Thanks again Dan
@restodan7 жыл бұрын
+super63strat , it's worth the drive to buy a solid car here. They initially cost more, but new sheet metal for a cheaper rusted car, makes it cost the same if not more. I'd rather take a roadtrip than cutting out rust.

I'm here in Northen California bay area and they are hard to come by, they are still out there just not many as there once was. In the 1980s people were selling off there old none running car's sitting in there drive ways for a few $100 buck's now they want $1,000's for an American iron deal's are still out there to be had. It's a job to search everywhere everyday on the web newspaper's friend's family car shows swap meets, and driving out side of your area of where you live. Some time's you have to drive in old parts of town's you wouldn't normally drive into because old car's don't sit in New neighborhood's. Good Luck with searching for the right car or truck for you. If you do get a project car make shire it's the one because it can be pricy putting them on the road again.

You are right it's like a small museum being inside an old car yard if those vehicles could tell the stories they been through. As a kid in high school in the 1980s I can say I road in a lot of diffent classic car's and trucks. That's all my friend's and family were buying was older car's. To this day we still have old car's in are front yard 1964 Chevy truck 48 4 door Chevy sedan 2- 4 door 1968 Toyota Corolla 1947 Chevy Coupe1963 fait convertible and i still will buy another old car truck if the prices is right. There are deal's still out there to be made not as many as there once was those small gems are still out there.

Very nice, :) I love junk yards of vintage cars so much! 💘👍 IS IT STILL THERE? (I HOPE!) I'm restoring a '67 Chevy Caprice/Impala 4 Door Hardtop... I've done a loooot of metal work to save the front fenders &&&... I didn't change parts, my opinion is to save parts. change parts is the easyest job, but if everybody only change parts then too many restorable cars & parts get lost for other people in future who like to build & restore theyr own classic car... I wish more people save vintage cars, junk yards & parts. Because nobody produce the most importand parts... so many restorable cars too often are only "parts cars" :( I know often it's very difficult to restore & save a part or whole car. But I can say when you finished a restoration you're much more proud about when you saved the most parts :) Sometimes you can't do anything else than search for a part. Because it is lost on your project car. I know! I've that problem too...! I like especially the 4 Door Hardtop bodystyle (not only Chevys - at all vintage cars this is my favorit bodystyle. Because I think a 4 Door Body without the B-Pillar is so fantastic looking! :) Thank you for the Video about this historic & amazing place of dreams! 😉👍 🍀If you (or anyone) can help me to find some parts for my restoration^^ -or a junk yard or anything else what can help me to get some parts, i would be so grateful to you!🍀 Thank you

Central Oregon is the same way in terms of how a car will rust. Old original cars here really show their age, but won't completely rot away. However, if you leave a car sitting on the coast or in the valley for more then ten years there'll be nothing left but rust and mold.

I lived in Co. in the 70's. The only salt they used on the highways was on the passes when they got too slick. They didn't use salt in Denver or anywhere else on the main roads. Another reason for the good condition of these cars.

Pikes Peak Motor Company no resides in Penrose, Colorado Hwy 50 east. It is now A-1 auto recyclers. This is an old video and they no longer have most of what is shown here. They do not allow folks to pull your own parts either. Prices are good for the most part I do recommend them and they are good folks.

I'm a little confused as I knew this shop as SoCal Hotrods. Maybe two business under same roof? In any case, as of this winter, 2015/2016, this shop and whole block of buildings on that side of the street are all gone, as the state/city are revamping the I25/Hwy 24 interchange. Do not know what happened to the business you describe, but will look into it and update.
