Old City Walkabout + Hotels Rooms Tour Chiang Mai

After doing Walking Street in prev vid, today doing a proper walkabout inside the moat/old city area. Temples won't be everyone's cup o Chang, so added a couple hotel room tours too. All in all a low key but pleasant day, hope you enjoy.

Cool extended tour round Chang Mai STL some lovely scenes, some of the backstreets looked really sweet areas some of them looked slightly familiar but it was a while ago since I was there. Very beautiful city and the temples are amazing. Thanks again for showing us around big thumbs up from UK 🇬🇧👍

We are now in December 2022. I had a look on Agoda for popular Chiang Mai places. People are back traveling and room prices have ca. doubled in THB compared to last year.

Despite all the naysayers back then, I stated Thailand would absolutely pop when re-opened and it sure is. Prices have also returned to 'normal' and in some cases increased, sign o the times globally too.

Yes, I've walked by jazz club on inside of north moat a few times and you probably walked by it on that walk - starts to warm up in the evening - North Gate Jazz Co-Op. I love wandering in Chiang Mai - fruit bowl from lady (Tip?) at back of Sompet Market, numerous coffee shops/restaurants in that area around Moon Muang 6. Great relaxed vibe.

There is that slight resemblance of Bagan. If anything, I am more excited about returning to Myanmar than Thailand at this point. I went to Mandalay and Bagan in 2019 for the first time and it was amazing.

Odd, I never ever get negative attitudes from Thai people, or from immigration officials, etc etc. Quite the opposite. No idea why some westerners feel 'victimised' and ironically have a sense of 'entitlement' (irony being, these types are also usually the tough talkers;). Run across some of these angry at the world, eternally miserable, scowling, or smug & 'superior Westerner' types here and cannot get away fast enough... Love Thailand & Thai people too, absolute tops.

Maybe I came across to many greedy issan folks...300 baht/15 dollars for cab rides ten to 20 blocks I never seen such greed day after day and massage girls wanting huge tips. Lots of angry drivers there. I understand you don't want to show any negative side while you are there but it is there.

If a cabbie wants too much or won't use a meter, I simply smile and walk away to find another (or alternate transport like motorbike taxi for shorter hops). Most massage girls don't get any salary, their salary IS tips. Rarely do I come across angry drivers in Thailand, or even angry blaring horns (but back home yes). Reading Thai expat forums, some seem to wake up angry, have negative experiences every day, then go to bed angry (rinse-repeat).To some it's always an external problem but the real source is usually pitifully obvious. Sure Thailand's not perfect but for me I'm not hiding negative experiences either, just rarely if ever have any.

Love your videos, just one little thing.. the music you play is way higher than the clips when you are talking and it’s a nightmare to constantly increase the volume when you talk and decrease the volume when the music plays throughout the video, so I don’t wake my Mrs 😅😂.
