100%, Graves is their Magnum Opus. Although a great song and album the new album had a new rythem guitar player, bass player and drummer, 3/5 members and just overall wasn't as good as previous 2 albums. . Graves or Dream the Dead off In Contact are two standouts or off Bloom Turtntail or Firelight for something a little more commercial, or Dragonfly or Marigold for something progressive and awesome.

Was literally about to recommend it. That song has so many surprises I'd love to see his reaction to it, especially since he's one for technicality; very musically complex song. It really is an experience listening to it for the first time.

Hello from the mainland of the U.S. down south in the Peach State somewhere in the foothills of the Smokey Mountains. Been watching your channel for a while and don't comment often, but when I saw that you were doing a reaction to Caligula's Horse I had to say thank you and nicely done. They have become one of my favorite proggy bands out there, and there aren't a lot of folks doing reactions to their music. "Slow Violence" is off the Australian group's newest studio LP 'Rise Radiant' which dropped last year in May. As I fan, I have definitely been enjoying the album, and one of my favorite tunes is on the latter half of the tracklist at song No. 8, 'The Ascent.' I highly recommend checking out Caligula's Horse music off their early albums, they have 4 previous full-length LPs and one 2-song EP that they have released prior to 'Rise Radiant.' Some songs I recommend are "Rust" off of 2015's 'Bloom' and "A Gift To Afterthought" along with "Dark Hair Down" off of 2013's 'The Tide, the Thief & River's End.' 2017's 'In Contact' has some gems as well, namely "Will's Song (Let the Colours Run)."

My first encounter with Caligula's Horse was a live gig in Coolangatta (there to see friend's band, before them). The frisson!! Full mind & body. Danced & danced, then found I was just standing with eyes wide & mouth agape. Then impelled to danced some more. I was hooked. Jim's voice is extraordinary as recorded; but live, it's ethereal & body slamming and soul squeezing. Jim & the instrumentalists are also mesmerising performers. I wanted them to replay the entire set, to appreciated each one in turn. One would distract me, from the other. Took CDs home from the gig. Haven't had chance to see them live, since then. Top of my list, when the world goes back to 'normal'. LizZy 2021.

The accents in guitar intro are the driving force of this song. I love how the drummer agrees and backs his team mate by where and how he enters the piece with the snare hits. Then there is this magical display of flow at 2:36 through 2:41. The sixteenth accents dancing around that I would call "after the fact" are my medicine. My first time hearing this band, a great find. Thanks for your work and sharing your reactions. I look forward to these.

I've noticed no one is suggesting music off of their first 2 albums. While I really appreciate their new drummer (Josh) for stepping up, he just doesn't have the same level of dynamics that the original drummer (Geoff) did. I'm new here. KZbin algorithm brought me here. A little insight to the band; Australian mate, critically acclaimed yet criminally underrated outside the progressive rock/metal scene, attributed for reviving or refreshing the prog scene by critics and fans, every album is worth a listen as they can carry tracks across albums sometimes and you can literally feel the progression music wise. I feel like in an interview somewhere online I saw them describe In Contact, the album prior to the one you just covered, as a concept album about an artist struggling with his sexuality. Hence the Picaso-esque cover art. Hope that helps some. Also Graves is a 15 minute trip so if you're wanting to dip your toes in, I would suggest "Marigold" off the Bloom album.

The singers ex-band Arcane is another Australian prog monster that is an incredibly well kept secret that most Caligula's Horse fans haven't even heard, I'd highly recommend checking them out! I would recommend 'Learned' it's a masterpiece but it is 22mins long, really any song you pick you can't go wrong with

Hey there, love your content it's very informative! Would love to see your reaction on When the Water Breaks by Liquid Tension Experiment (basically the old Dream Theater guys, without John Myung but with Tony Levin, another legend!)

Came here from your 30 days of programming video. The top comment doesn't lie. Graves truly is a masterpiece and an underrated/fairly unknown work of art that id say is at the pinnacle of prog rock/metal. Not just for your viewers, but do yourself a favour and at least listen to it :) been here from the start of your reaction journey and I'm sticking around until the day you're no longer doing them!
