I think Bob Dylan would be happy with what they did with his song. There’s something so special about it. It just makes you feel good. I almost cry when I hear this song.

I love how Ketch plays the song differently each time. I don’t know how many times I have heard this song but it’s never exactly the same violin riffs. It’s just Ketch fiddling, which shows how truly talented he is. Most of us fiddlers are happy just being able to play a song consistently the same. It’s incredibly difficult to make it sound different and fresh each time.

I've practiced along with the video a *lot* and.... you're right but he is following a general melody line (not just the song tune but his solo) from the studio version. But you're right, the guy's a pro and mixes it iup.

Absolutely, this is old time country music. However, the original version was by Bob Dylan in 1973 known as Rock Me, Mama. But he never quite finished it. Old Crow Medicine Show picked it up, finished it with Dylan, and recorded and released about 2003 as Wagon Wheel. Darius Rucker of Hootie and the Blowfish records and releases it in 2013 and the rest is history. Between 1973 and 2003 the tune had an underground following. Believe me, I know. "Rock me, mama" was one of my favorites...both music and expression.
