Upchurch has captured the soul of so many of us, young AND old (I am 58). My back country childhood was traded many years ago for city life and a big house in an exclusive neighborhood. All for what?! Want to get back to my roots but 'the man' owns a big part of me now and escaping is not as easy as it was getting here. Keep it rolling Ryan, you are helping me to get back to where I came from. Thank you!

You youngsters don't know the real old days. I just passed 50 here and can totally relate to the old days. The best of the old days for me were the early 80's when raising fists meant 2 guys throwing down and when one or the other, either gave up, or one got beat down to the point he couldn't fight back, it ended, rarely a gun a knife or anything else was in the mix and rarely would there be a situation where others would team up against a single person. A fair fight if you will. If a cop managed to get involved, they would use discretion and allow them to walk away from it so long as the two agreed to not press charges on each other. Guys involved would agree to drop it and go their separate ways, to either lick their wounds, or brag to their friends, depending on which end of the fight they ended up on.

I'm 60+......I always talk about those "good ole days"...when everything was closed on Sundays except for church and family functions, Mom & Pop stores everywhere for everything, when you were actually taught morals and ethics in school and even more at home, and people respected each other for what and who they were, and if you didn't your parents would straighten your attitude out(if ya know what I mean), for me that would be the late 50's, 60's.....they weren't perfect, but I'd gladly take it over what see today ! Much love big dawg 💪🏻 To anybody reading this… you are enough, and always have been. Your are the beauty that shapes the world. You are loved more than you know, and by people you don’t even know of yet. You are stronger than you think, so keep your head up. Your life is valuable, never measure your self worth by what you think somebody else thinks of you. You have so much ahead of you on this journey every day is a new step to take. You are not a mistake, you are special. You are important, this world needs you. God loves you regardless of your past, and in case nobody has told you today, I LOVE YOU.

I feel bad for the kids growing up now. I am 29 and am thankful to grow up before the internet. Back then it was just you and your buddies having a good time and living in the moment without worrying about facebook or instagram or whatever bullshit that has kids sucked to their phones. That and you could make dry ice bombs and shoot bottle rockets without ending up on a terrorist list. You have to keep you head up though, the propaganda system that is dragging this country into a PC shithole is counting on everyone thinking its the right thing to do and is the social norm. By resisting and not giving a shit you give others hope to follow you and that is what we need more than anything.

I'm at the pool at my apartment complex and I'm playing some upchurch and there was a group of people who asked me to not play my music because it was offensive. I said welcome to Tennessee I play what I feel

I'm 50 years old and listen to Eric makes me think about the days when I was in my younger years. I relate to everything he sings. Freaking unbelievable how I relate to this dude. I grew up on a farm in Red Springs NC. I feel like he could have been my brother..

That's what I've always taught my kids. The youngest got kicked off the bus in kindergarten for fighting back to a bully the 2nd week of school...he stood for himself. I patted him on the back, told him I loved him, and to never back down, and I had his back for standing up for himself.
