From the time that this song came out all the way to Now in 2024, I have listened to this song through the ups and downs of life. Through the worst of the storms and the brightest of the sun, this song really speaks a true message about life and all of its beauty. Struggle is beauty, there is beauty in the struggle and that is exactly what this song is talking about through times of sheer hardship. Blood sweat, tears and more pain than I can ever imagine, this song helped me get through all of that, Ryan Upchurch is one of the most meaningful music artist of all time and he makes classic masterpieces day in and day out. I wish Ryan Upchurch could see how much of an impact his music has on the community around him long live the south.

The records grow from Hank Williams Jr, to Upchurch. Country music just grows, that's his roots and the seed of his ideas? Fertilized with ambition(rose petals). Watering can may be symbolic, tears? Like blood sweat and tears? I'm not sure if 3:00 has a meaning, I'm thinking it definitely does. Planting the pocket watch, idk, upchurch himself growing with time? He's already said the lamp lights are all the ideas he's coming up with, the car is him comfortable with the road he's on. This all said, one thing that's very eerie, the shot with him looking out the side mirror, looks exactly like Elvis when he was very young, before his mother died. Very eerie, very cool. Awesome job

@Jojohallstacey7 жыл бұрын
The records are Eminem's album Relapse, Johnny Cash's At San Quentin, and Hank Jr's Five-O. I'm assuming that the records he is burying are the seeds to his music which he pulls up because Eminem, Cash and Hank are an extreme influence on his career. The pocket watch he buries after digging up the records are him wanting to "Go back in time sometimes and sit in silence doin nothin." I guess he's saying if he could go back and time and live for the moment as well as do it all again, he would.
@rebelmustang80967 жыл бұрын
I commented right before bed after a long day, I DID see the Cash but didn't recognize the Eminem, thanks for clearing it up! Upchurch explained everything on his Facebook, if anyone cares to take a peek at that. I dearly hope I'm not reading too much into anything or offending him. However I'm still curious about the significance of 3:00?

Just like all of your other songs they’re fantastic and your a fantastic artist man!!!
@DailyDrivenProjects Жыл бұрын
This is the comment I needed to see because I'm still mourning the death of my white 2005 suburban I named White Lightning after this song because of all the hard work I went thru to own a cool piece of not just automotive history but also my childhood given that my dad still drives the one we grew up in. And in my truck I've fallen in love with my future wife, and made so many memories with some really great friends. And of course when it came to working hard like myself, there wasn't much that White Lightning couldn't do, and somehow that gave me the same confidence about myself that I've lacked all my life. So yeah it really really hurt to have to total it. He will be missed, but there are others out there to live out his legacy so I guess I'm still Chasing White Lightning ⚡

ryan will probably never see this but im gunna put it out there...back in the early 2000's me and my 2 partners had a rap group..all underground and self made ..we travelled all throughout the midwest from state to state doing shows. built a fan base and even ended up on the cover of "go magazine" and rockford register star newspaper headlines. i was so hungry for the music. i did the recording , the mixing, the mastering ...i was all in..then life hit hard in the recession..i dropped off to take care of my kids because the music life can really take a toll on your home life ...its almost a decade later...been 8 years since i wrote or even thought about doing music...after finding upchurch i realized that tho the lane i was in at the time was still true to me... i, like him appriciate so many genres of music. and it has given me a new outlook on myself and my music and what it could be. i wont seek the stardom or any kind of local fame again , but his music has given me the push to get back in the lab and just do me....for me, because i love to make music.....wether i make a country track , a hip hop track, a rock tune...doesnt matter...he has paved the way and opened up my mind to just get back into it because music is a major part of me. and to just do whatever i feel like doing. so just here to say thank you to ryan upchurch for being real, being true , and showing people like me you dont have to create your lane in one form. you can just do you no matter the genre and be happy that your blessed enough to do it. thanks brother.

Ryan, I'm not sure how you come up with the ideas for the songs you write, but your mind is incredible and I love it! You always bring some new angle...ever changing...is the things and places you go the inspection? Are your dreams like visions and you set them all to music, or do you know the beat as you write the lyrics?? Idk...but I'm amazed everytime I hear YOUUUUUU!!!

He's started a whole new culture of music, and I've never been big on rap at all but the way he puts it together as is good and I've always been a very proud white man and will continue to be. There's not a damn thing wrong with being proud of your white race and wanting the best for your children and not wanting to forget our heritage and all this BS with all this other crap going on, anyways feeling pretty tired you know what I mean,, long story short Upchurch is badass and he's coming up quick.

Never in a million years would I say a country/rap song was good. Just to be real about it. Country does not resignate with me at all. This though...damn...you got me. I am shocked at how good you are.

Some people go for gold, then lose sight of their shine And the sparkle that once was, gets tarnished in mind They forget what they was after they fell off the track And their vision that was vivid gets lost in pitch black Age starts to take place like a bomb that keeps tickin' And they regret not chasing after it after they had the ambition The ambition fades away like the red on a rose And the regret sucks the life from everybody I suppose But my rose ain't red, it won't die but ain't fake But when I die, I'll drown myself in these lyrics I speak White. Lightnin'. Real Church. -Thank you for Sharing.

This ain't "Country Rap" This shit is "$0u+h£®π Hip-hop" aka Hip-hop! I just call it "Upchurch style music" keep it coming Bubba! This is my favorite song before people's champ came out! I'm from Oklahoma and I hope I get a chance to go to an "Upchurch" concert that I won't have to drive all day to or fly to but either way, before my time is over on this round shaped rock called earth 🌎 I PROMISE I WILL SEE CHURCH LIVE! I don't call really see it as a concert when it's Upchurch, I call it more like a "Motivational Southern Speaking/with bad ass music and a DJ/band"! Upchurch is a smart man, and a great role model for today's youth to look up to! Hell he is a great role model for adults like myself to look up to as well! THANKS UPCHURCH! you're work is definitely noticed! U r the hardest working motherfucker in or around Nashville, TN! Keep it up brother! Keep it up-CHURCH!

Your music touches my soul and gets me lost in a world of an empty mind... your the most badass hick hop singers I listen to, your lifestyle is teaching me to get through the hard things in life and get all the bullies out of the way and don’t let anyone crush your dreams.

Coming back to this song after all these years with all this drama this is the song all the fans need to listen to this is Upchurch and he is still the same person still representing the small people those of us that can't speak for ourselves..HB TEXAS CREEKSQUAD 4LIFE

💯 % even this British country guy can appreciate. all this drama is bs, just caught this on playlist. Nastalgic classic, it's aging well. Upchurch is just human and still a good dude like he always has been. Life changes all the time, he's still the creative inspirational country rapper he was in the beginning. Other people out in the rap seen need to leave him along and realise he's in his own lane.💪🏻❤️👌🏻🇬🇧 South West UK - Creek squad! Church's message and music reaches far an wide.👍🏻
