The old Eyre highway is lot more overgrown on the edges and narrower than when I first went on it 50 years ago. Crossing it at between 40 and 50 MPH.

Laurie can I ask what mapping system do you use...because you always get yourself out of trouble..NJ.

Back then it was Magellan. Then I switched to Hema HN6 in 2012. I rarely use the Navigation part, and usually have the 4WD section in front of me, showing a topo map. Cheers, Laurie.

Was your caravan off road or semi off road

It's a Billabong caravan on a Simplicity suspension. My caravan service/Repair person tells me that it is an excellent semi-offroad suspension. It has been well tested over the past 14 years (since new), and hasn't given me any problems. Tyre pressures and driving according to conditions is important. Cheers, Laurie.
