Your turn!😆 You know, one of the reasons I don’t run my Iron Audio on is because I feel it detracts from the actual signal of a potentially good target…there’s too much “competition” for the audio circuit to accurately identify a coin through nuance. That’s just me, but it’s also why I’d run the Explorer “high and tight”…I’d rather listen for a piece of a good signal than have all of it come through in a big “audio blur”. This was filmed this past Wednesday and it was one of those days…everything was “on”. EVERY day should be just like it!

I sure hope it’s my turn to have a multi silver day soon! Been mostly junk lately, but that’s mainly due to the sites. Or I guess I should say lack of sites. I like to run iron audio at a low level when hunting woods or fields, just so that I know when I get on a spot that’s seen activity. In a park or similar places, yeah it’s mostly useless. I’m going hunting again this weekend. Probably the same old site but maybe I’ll get on a hot spot! Good luck if you get out!

I wish you luck when you get out! When I sent you that pic the other day I was kinda thinking I was being a dick about it but I know you’re a gamer!😃 Some call it “competitive”, some call it “passion”, some call it “bragging”….I call it “showing what is REALLY still in the ground”, and it is astonishing. A site like this has been used as a fairground for 150 years, 91 of those years with silver coins. It is trash dense, nail dense, and coin dense…relatively speaking. It’s a tough hunt for anyone, but if you can get on a place like this, the D2 is the machine to have when all other comers have taken their shot! I STILL can’t believe what it’s done so far, it’s nuts.

Not at all man. I love seeing your finds and hope your luck continues! Honestly, I could go have a multi silver day tomorrow, almost guaranteed, if I I’d just go do some door knocking. But, like I mentioned before, I hate asking permission nowadays so I won’t. I’ll just go hunt the same old dried up site and hope I hit a hot spot. It’s peaceful in the woods so even if I don’t find anything great, I still enjoy it. I do have another CW site in mind but will probably wait till cooler weather comes back as it’s pretty grown up with brush right now.

I am glad to see dewayne and kevin uploading videos again. Even just one every few weeks since one of theirs is better than most of the crap detecting videos being put out there these days. In my opinion, their videos are the best. No BS and neither is trying to be mr. youtube star. Just two very experienced detectorists who we all can learn from.

Awesome Kevin! I've still not made the leap to the deus 2 yet. I'm hunting previous ground with the ctx and 6inch coil that I've hammered with the 17inch coil. My 17 inch coil has gave up, all it does is false now. I've said to myself I'll get one last silver find with this 6inch coil and then I'm switching to deus 2! Looking forward to your next video. I’m sorry to hear of the demise of your coil Andrew! Boy I tell you WHAT…my 17” coil was the GO TO COIL for 95% of my hunting! BUT!…now, I’m finding targets such as these at 6-8” deep that are SO mixed in with nails and the usual trash that the IDs are getting dragged down by 3-5 numbers, so if your places are ANYTHING like mine, you have an entire new crop of coins to go after. Come this October 10th it’ll be a year with the D2 and as good as the CTX has always been and always will be, I wouldn’t give this machine up for anything on the market right now, it is THAT good at finding the most masked coins. Actually, I’m looking forward to your thoughts about the D2, coming from the CTX! Keep me posted and good luck in your adventures!

Thanks Greg! I watched your latest compilation the other day and I gotta say…Superior brought back great memories of a summer trip in high school with a friend of mine to their place in Washburn…girls…alcohol…Styx on the radio…to be be young(er) again! The fact you guys are finding stuff THAT old in that area is pretty interesting, I would’ve never guessed. It seems that when you get out into those woods your hunting area is just about unlimited!

@@timberandtools That’s awesome! Couple reasons I haven’t uploaded and detecting stuff in awhile. First, KZbin is FLOODED with metal detecting stuff and it’s really hard to get views, or to have new people come along and learn anything which is why I do it to begin with. Everyone wants to know how THEY can be successful. Second reason is I’m a public ground hunter, and my sites within reasonable driving distances are just wiped out. They were pretty toasted when I started but they’re really cooked now. It’s just difficult to capture live video of finding something worth posting. What kind of detecting do you do? Coins? Jewelry? Relics? Another reason I’m turning more toward saws is just for the fact my son and I get out and do this stuff, and he really enjoys getting into the woods and getting out some aggression! He’s been running the piped 261c and he is in LOVE with that machine. Being able to spend time with him working together is always going to take a front seat to me metal detecting by myself as you might imagine. We’re lucky to have the relationship we do, it’s certainly not always that way! Bonding over loud barking chain saws? It’s just too cool man!

@@wizardsofwisconsin7400 that’s awesome! I have a hobby detector 250$ unit have found some cool stuff never silver yet I hunt with my daughters. They like it. I don’t know a better way to bond with a son other than running a saw. I have three girls so I wouldn’t know for sure but that’s what I’d imagine is the pinnacle running saws together haha

Well…it’s one of TWO fairgrounds 4 people I know personally have hammered with Explorers and all sorts of coils, CTX’s and all coils, Equinox’s and 2 coils, ATP’s and several coils…not to mention the plethora of hunters and machines who have undoubtedly come before us in every form and fashion. I’m pretty sure that because you are also an urban coin hunter that you’ve run across the scenario where one day everything seems strange and there aren’t many signals, another day at the same place everything seems good and you’re finding stuff left and right. This is another one of those places…it’s “on” or it’s “off”. I don’t know the exact cause but I’ve seen it MANY MANY times. Probably silent EMI of maybe sun angle or gremlins…dunno. I guess whenever a multiple silver day happens in a supposedly wiped out location one HAS to think there’s more to it than pure luck…the machine/operator combo becomes a bigger and bigger part of any success. And I say that as an observation over the years, not to sound high and mighty. At SOME point the operator matters.

I have seen it too where I have been at a park all day digging only junk but the sun starts to go down and the coins coins start coming up. But then some times I will do good in the middle of the day. Lately I have been doing good in the day. I have wondered if it is solar storms, or maybe emi from the sun

@@phillipcollins5268 That’s the frustrating part Phillip, we don’t really know! All we can do is OBSERVE, and recall patterns we encounter. I firmly believe that detecting is easier at night, or at least when the sun isn’t fully “up”. I’m sure you’ve heard the comparison to AM radio…during the day reception just sucks but in the middle of the night…clear as a bell. So now the question…why your success lately in the daytime? Was it cloudy? Were you running different programs or frequencies? Different or smaller coil? SO many variables to consider, we can be driven mad sometimes trying to nail it all down.
