Thank you. I really appreciate that. Right bow waiting for my dad's new barn to go up so I can work on it this winter. Thanks for watching.

The Farmall 400 was the replacement for the M line of Farmall's. It came standard with TA, Live power and live hydraulics. Live power/hydraulics just mean they continue to run after you push in the clutch. M's the hydraulics and PTO stop when you push in the clutch. IMOP a good running Farmall 400 is a perfect budget tractor for a homestead. I use my 53 400 to do bucket work. grade the drive, Brush hog. My $2500 400 can do most of the same things as a $25,000 compact tractor can do. Granted. a nice new compact would be nice. But I cannot justify the cost while my 400 is still running. And it is likely to outlast me.

@@PheasantLaneFarm Ok, I dont really want to post my email address here. But I do have pretty extensive resources for a 400. Including step by step images of me splitting mine, removing the TA tunnel, Replacing the clutch, TA, and a couple a gears in the transmission. Used to have in on my old website before KZbin days.

You were very lucky the front casting did not break, they were not designed for tugging. Looks like a worthwhile project.

I agree it wasn't the best idea. At the time we didn't have any other options. Had to get it out before the fall rains or it would be stuck for another year. Our property tends to lay wet. For 6 months of the year.

They said it's been sitting for 8 years. I think it's been there a little longer.

That was awesome that you guys got it out. Did not look good at the start but persistence paid off. Appears to be in really good shape. That will be a fur project on the restoring. Glad you decided to resurrect the old girl. She deserves to live once more.

Thanks Gary. Both brakes were locked up, and sunk in that black swamp dirt more than we thought
