I would add - when you are finished washing, let the old gas burn out. It's easer. ...and that's the thing I always forget to do. Thank you MI-Tinker! saved me 50 bucks!

Great video. Followed these steps for the 2019 RY803001 model and worked perfect! Did not need to do the starting fluid. Used ethanol free 4 stroke gas from Home depot.

thanks for the vid. i’m in australia and thought i’d share that the most popular “starting fluid” here has the catchy product name “Start ya bastard”.

Been down this road, ethanol is terrible and can get so bad you have to remove the carburetor, I found this out when it was snowing hard, and I went to fire up my snow blower, you should use the best gas you can get maybe even use stabilizer, and also on any machine with a fuel shut off and run it until it quits!

Agreed...

Tried starting mine yesterday after it had been sitting for over a year. Gonna try this today, but ethanol free gas is really not available here that I no of. Any suggestions would help.

You can buy it at most hardware or automotive supply stores. In comes in a can and has quite a long shelf life.

Did you get it started? If you can't find rec gas, draining old gas, put a gas stabilizer in you gas can before adding it back into the tank. That will help extend the life of the fuel for a few months.

The oil you do not change ?
@mi-tinker9 ай бұрын
Thanks for the question. Since the machine was only used once last season, there was no need to change the oil. If you use the machine a lot during the year, yearly oil changes would be a good idea.

I tried everything, but what worked for me was simply squeezing the rubber fuel line a couple of times and then it started right up

You're also not supposed to run it without water or you'll damage the pump

What is everyone talking about that unit looked new, the gas looked clean.. what did u actually do? 😂😂
@mi-tinker9 ай бұрын
Easy... yes, It was a new machine used once in previous season... 5 months later the ethanol blended gas was no good... carb. had gunk build up. Drain old gas, put more stable gas (rec. gas no ethanol) in it... spray carb with starter fluid. pull starter cord and fixed. 😉
